  1. Hi guys! Been a while since i came here. First of all its quite sad that so few people share their experiences of the Psych. test. Believe me, it helps to share! My test had less than usual items...i think 203 or 205. It varied from names of researchers ( many of whom I found to be obscure) to calcualtions and data interpreatation. SOme common topics were genetics..Gregor Mendel type, social Psych studies, old experiments, diseases and mental disorders. The time was plenty and I found it easy to be relaxed there. its a paper-&-pencil test so be prepared! Write to me if anyone has any questions. Good Luck! Gummy:tup:

  15. "The absence of choice is a circumstance that is very, very rare." The ability to choose makes its presence felt right from the start when a child happily chooses one flavor of ice-cream over another. The responsibility to choose is reinforced over the years as is exemplified in the much hated question directed at all of us at one time or another-that of whom do we like more: Mom or Dad? Actually , a circumstance that eliminates the possibility of choosing would have to be exceptional in nature and rare in occurence. It is undoubtedly always possible to make the wrong choice, but that is better than making none. Historical choices are usually mottled in appearance. Some think them fair and white , while others do not. We often make generalizations from choosing peace over war, cooperation with the authority rather than confrontation, to marriage over divorce. It is , after all the right thing to do.But is it really choosing when one automatically does it to be in 'right'? Or is it being 'pragmatic' and knowing down to the demands of social desirability? In the final analysis , choices that have the highest level of comfort are the ones that satisfy us .If war is necessary to bring an end to tyranny or exploitation, then war is the answer. Not peace. If a confrontation is required to get respect in the workplace, then so be it.Cooperation is not the answer, however nice it makes one look. Similarly, if a relationship is finished in all senses of the word, then it is better to break it than drag to it around like an old shoe. Making a choice is never easy. And it never will be.Countries that fought for freedom from colonization didn't have it easy. But they chose to live and breathe freely ,not as slaves ,which they eventually achieved. And even though it is never easy , a lot of good comes from making a tough choice. We emerge stronger individuals .We learn that we can face any challenge . After all, making a choice is a huge responsibility. You have to live up to your end of the bargain. Statistics have been screaming the growing incidence of broken homes for a long time now. The truth is revealed stark in its reality: relationships die.How do we deal with this fact? Do we give up on love and marriage and escape the entire procees of having to decide or do we take the plunge and commit to whatever lies ahead? The choice is ours. There are no guarantees, except for the fact that at one time or another, each partner wants to walk out of the relationship. The time to make the final cut though is when there is nothing left to salvage anymore and one needs to think , not of what will happen to the kids, or that there will be a lot of criticism and heartbreak , but of what lies on the other side. Making your own choices is a sign of independence. There are many who live their entire lives based on the choices people make for them.It could be family, friends or fate. Its easy not to have to think for yourselff .But it is a sure-shot way of never knowing what life is all about, never knowing what you could have gained or lost, never knowing who you really are. Or could be. It's your choice. Some choices are more challenging than the others.Challenging because going either way is equally tough .For instance the choice that many loved ones of terminally ill people have to make, to let life be as it is or to end the misery? Seeing someone you love go through so much pain day in and day out, one would gladly do anything to put an end to it. But that would mean facing two isssues : first, it is unethical and to take life and second, letting that person finally go. Euthanasia has been a debatable issue and will continue to be for in my opinion there is no right choice .But there is a choice. Finally, the many aspects of life related above entail easy and hard choices. The latter more than the former. But they dont eliminate the opportunity to choose and as long as we have that we can turn our lives around, become something we want to. The fear of making a bad choice should not deter from making one.A life without courage is no life at all. Thanx so much to whoever reads and rates it. Also is there a place where i can read some samples to better mine? Thanx
  16. And try to keep it as global as possible.I mean , only issues that people all over might ve heard of.Not esoteric t oa particular place. Cya

  19. Hi Guys! I was just going thru a math text wherein I came across something very puzzling. It said there..that-2 raised to the power 4 = -16? Is that possible? If so, how do we distinguish when its negative and when its not? Thanx
