  1. Hi! I have been following this forum throughout the application cycle and have found it immensely helpful. With a bachelor's degree in engineering and some research experience, I applied, somewhat skeptically, to 9 OM programs mostly between T-10 to T-20. However, quite to my surprise, I was interviewed (over skype) at almost all of them and finally have an offer from a T-15 school. But the school does not have a great placement record with most students ending up at programs beyond T-50. I now have two choices A) Go for a PhD now. B) Get some RA experience under an Assistant Professor who is reasonably well known in the international circuit and re-apply in the 2016 cycle. My questions to the members of this forum are these: 1) Is it worth taking the risk of reapplying in hope of breaking into the big league (maybe I just got lucky this time)? Or should I just start my PhD now and spend a year as a Post-Doc if things do not pan out right. I know it is not common do a post doc after a b-school PhD but I am not sure how helpful it will be. 2) Apart from the obvious prestige, how would life as a faculty member in a not so good school differ from that in a better school in terms of research opportunities/industry collaborations (and the taboo topic - money earned). Your thoughts and suggestions would be greatly helpful Thanks!
