  1. Thanks for the reply. So right now, In terms of Masters programs, UofT(Toronto) is my top choice. I don't really know too much about european programs, but I do know that England is probably not financially feasible for me. Do you have any recommendations for good masters programs that are Micro-focused ?
  2. University Type: Top Canadian Program : Science - Physics & CS GPA -3.5 (2.7 first year, 3.7 or more for the rest) GRE - 170 Q, 166 V 4.5 W Courses : full year macro, micro. The same ones the econ majors students take. Analysis I and II. Stochastic Processes (Graduate), Algorithmic Game Theory (Graduate), Computer Vision (Graduate) Research : 2nd of 3 authors on a paper accepted to a relatively well known CS conference(for the particular subfield). The paper itself is essentially a micro-econ problem approached from a CS point of view. Note: As far as I've heard, Conferences in CS tend to be more prestigious than journals. Misc : Graduated a year and a half ago. Been working as a software dev ever since. Will this count against me?
  3. BSc (Majors: Physics & CS, minor : Math) Econ Courses : year long macro and micro (not the intro ones, the ones for the majors students) School type: Top Canadian School GPA: 3.48 overall (3.76 excluding 1st year) Math Classes : Analysis I and II(B+, A), PDEs(A) , Algorithmic Game Theory(Graduate, A), Stochastic Processes(Graduate, A) Major Negative Point: Did really badly in my first year(2.9 1st year gpa), took an advanced linear algebra course and got a D in it GRE : 170 Q 166 V 4.5 W Research Experience: Worked with my Algorithmic Game Theory prof on a paper to which I made a contribution, will not be a co-author however, Programming Experience : Lots, currently work as a Developer for a financial company Recommendations : 2 profs with whom I worked on the aforementioned paper. The 3rd will be from a prof in the CS department with whom I took a grad level Computer Vision course. Do I have a chance at econ phd programs in the 15-30 range? Or should I definitely consider doing a masters first, Thanks again, I know i'm the millionth person to do this
