  1. Hi! I have been a lurker for a while as there's quite a bit of very handy info to go through. Profile evaluation seems to be the best way to hopefully calm the increasing jitters. It would be great if some of the folks who have crossed the bridge could please evaluate my profile. Program applying to: Management / Strategy Age: 31 GMAT: 750 (Q50, V40, IR6, AWA5) Undergrad school: Small private university in the United States (T200) Undergrad degree / GPA / other stuff: Electrical Engineering, 3.4/4.0 (Top 10%), full tuition scholarship, departmental scholarships Grad school: IIM, India (T3) Grad degree / GPA: MBA, 6.3/9.0 (Top 30%) Work experience: 6 years #US - IT project management - Electronics & Tech - 2 years #India - market entry and expansion, strategic planning & such - Fortune 50 US firm and East European firm - 4 years; + projects with several firms Research experience: #Undergrad - 1 year research thesis with senior researchers from known US labs #Grad - 3 research projects, 1 year thesis in strategy-related area with extensive industry work, 1 case currently being used in MBA curriculum #Work - writing new case with prof. who supervised thesis Teaching experience: #3 months of corporate training experience (does this qualify??) #Guest faculty at IIM #Tutor in highschool and undergrad #Volunteer to teach kids for many years LoRs: 2 from Grad school profs. who can speak for my research capabilities (1 actively publishing), 1 from director of a large local firm where I did a research+consulting project (this person has known me for 10+ years) Programs applying to: #US - 3 in Top 10, 5 in Top 30 #Europe & Asia - 4 Questions: #What are my chances? #Am I applying widely enough? #How does the spouse visa thing work - what can they do for 5 years if not allowed to work - is it better for them to get another degree as well... all related queries? (for international applicants)
