This opportunity that I am going to apply for is one of the most vital one I had ever gotten. Studying economics programs is worthy plan to every student who wants to understand how economy works, but under this umbrella there are many aspects to consider which are a challenging ones the very urgent is where to study these aspects. When I heard about the MSc. Economics program I had already heard about ........... where I discovered how much this institute has a distinguished reputation among its counterparts in the world whether in regarding to the quality of courses offered in its programs or by the quality of graduated students and research conducted, moreover the updated syllabus that reflects the institute willing to pursuit all new in the field of education. But what makes me applying for this program at ............ and not elsewhere is being a research oriented institute obviously with providing all back up to achieve students goal. I graduated from faculty of economics in Tishreen university with a very good grade 72.42% and I was among the top ten who are usually qualifying to high studies courses, where my studies in this faculty was covered with the main economics courses like micro and macro economics, statistics, mathematics, business …. I stopped studying the high studies courses because I was admitted in a professional master program which is a joint program between Damascus university and university of Poitiers, studying this master program entitled risk management with specialty : management of industrial and environmental risks, this master was interesting because it was new for us and the master students was from different background. In this program I learned how to work in teams because within the two years of master every assignment I did was in the cooperation with at least two or three colleagues. During my study in this master program I have learned mathematical techniques and methods that improves my abilities to problem solving situations and cases. The languages of study were both Arabic and French learning this new language adds another advantage to this program, but this master program as I mentioned is a professional one, so there is no thesis in the end of the study. I am fascinating in research work from the early beginning of my career path, I still remember when I was still in the second year of the college in the summer vacation . I take my friend's position as a research assistant in ACNielsen mission in my city and I was very interesting and enthusiastic in working with a professional researchers group and learned many research techniques from questionnaire design to data analysis and how to make it representative, this stage made me curious about research and grace to it later I used to build decision making on a research work. That was obvious when I became marketing officer and later loan officer and business development specialist. In 2005 I worked as a marketing officer in VBI ( village business incubator) the first incubator established in Syria- financed by EU- that support micro entrepreneurs of female community which is a service centre for the development of female entrepreneurship in nine villages of the Lattakia Governorate, and also promote women’s active role in the labor market through the creation of small/micro scale viable and self sustainable value added enterprises. My job at that time was almost research oriented because as a marketing officer all entrepreneurs who take loans to establish their own business need to submit all information related to these enterprises and the marketing section is the vital one since the center was curious on how when where and to whom these enterprises will sell their products\services and that cannot be done without research process to discover the minimum level of feasibility for these enterprises so as soon as loan applications were sent to me I started the research work beginning with questionnaires in the markets of the related products then I analyzed the collected data regarding competitors , customers pricing strategies, and best places to distribute the product or service and that was my main task Also when I worked as a loan officer in WEPA project " women empowerment &poverty alleviation " funded by UN in 2008 I was helping business development division in its research since I was working in the field and I played a vital role not only in getting a primary data but also I did a complete research in the form of report about BDS business development services and best approach to adopt by our project. Fortunately, in all my previous jobs the official work language was the English language where all of my reports, correspondences, and paper works were in English. After more than six years of work experience I decided to continue my studies , but I preferred the program that I will involve in to be research oriented because I tend to select my study program from challenging perspective as I did in my main work disciplines, so I want to preserve with this desire as a reflection of how preserving I am in achieving my goal in pursuit a Ph.D program I think my existence in this master would be for its benefit due to the long experience and unique subjects I dealt with , along with my enthusiasm for research. I will fully devoted myself to this program and ready to get this challenge because I am single and I already have my family support , I do not need more than this but to demonstrate my competences gaining in my past education and experience in this program.
