  1. Some students prefer classes with open discussions between the professor and students and almost no lectures. Other students prefer classes with lectures and almost no discussions. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. How lectures are being taught plays an important role in the life of a student. Students' academic performance majorly depends upon the way teacher teaches to them. If given a choice, some students, I am sure, would chose lectures with more discussion. Others would chose lectures with less discussion. I think, lectures with more discussion are better than lectures with less discussion for several reasons. The main reason is that, students can understand better in a lecture with open discussion. While interacting with each other, professor will knows when and what students are not understanding and they can clarify the unclear topic right away. For instance, when I was in secondary school, there was a teacher who taught us mathematics. She used to teach us in a very interactive way: first she explains a topic and solves its example questions, then she use to give us few questions to solve on our own, after a few time, she use to check each student's note copy and corrects us if there is any mistake. As a result every student in my class scored good marks in mathematics. As you can see, class with more interaction are better for students. Another reason is that, students can ask their doubts as soon as they have it. In an open discussion any student can ask their professor whatever they want to, regarding the lecture. It will not only clear their doubts, but also increase their confidence level. For example, when I was in college, there was a professor who taught us chemistry and he allowed us (students) to have an open discussion about every topic he taught. In this way I was able to ask any doubts to the professor. Sometimes when I didn’t had any doubt my potential doubts were also clarified because they were asked my some other student. So it is clear that discussion plays a crucial role in any lecture. In conclusion, lectures with more discussion are much better than lectures with less discussion. Interactive class not only allows a student to ask clarify their doubts, but also it make to understand the lecture better. So students should have an open discussion during their lectures. 2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People behave differently when they wear different clothes. Do you agree that different clothes influence the way people behave? Use specific examples to support your answer. How do people behave to others is a mighty crucial characteristic of them. A person’s behaviour to others will eventually reflect how others behave to him or her. If asked, some may agree with the fact that cloths influence people’s behaviour and others may disagree. I agree with the statement that people behave differently when they wear different clothes for several reasons. Cloths that are neat and clean, are of latest fashion makes people feel more confident and comfortable. When a person wear cloth that is of latest trend and also looks sanitary, he or she will feel delightful and thus they will me more comfortable and confident. For instance, last year when I was in my final year of my college, my juniors suddenly decided to give us (my class mates) a farewell party. In such a short notice it was pretty hard for us to go for shopping to but latest cloth for the party. But I already had a suit which was new and of latest trend. I wore my suit to the party and I was feeling very comfortable in the party because I was looking great and confident on my cloths. As you can see, cloths can influence one's behaviour. If an individual has not dressed according to the occasion, he or she might behave in a different way. In certain situation, when it is customary to wear some definite cloths and someone does not wear that definite cloths, he or she will feel different from others. For example, when I was in 6th class of my school life, I remember, there was a newcomer in my class but he didn’t had our school uniform. And because there is only one store in our city that sell’s our school uniform, which had a lot of orders from students of various schools, he had to wait for a month to get his uniform. During that period he felt embarrassed and uncomfortable in class. Apparently, customary cloths if not wore can influence peoples’ behaviour in certain occasion. In sum, I think cloths can influence peoples’ behaviour. Not only wearing different cloths can make you feel confident but also they can make you feel embarrassed. So one should always wear new, neat and clean cloths, according to the situation. Word Count: 382
