Hi,
I am a recent graduate from a top Korean university (Econ major), and I am interested in developmental and international economics. My end goal is to gain acceptance into a top Phd program, but I realize that my current profile is insufficient. Any advice on how to have the best chance at a Phd program would be greatly appreciated.
Stats:
GPA: ~3.9/4.0
GRE: 160V/170Q/5
I took many econ courses, but my university did not offer many math courses. I took only a handful (i.e. mathematical economics, intro to statistics). Also, I do not have any research experience (except for senior thesis), nor do I have exceptional LORs.
My initial thinking was to do some post bacc coursework at a university in order to complete the essential math courses (e.g. linear algebra, real analysis). However, I was hoping that someone on this forum would know of a better route. Thank you!
