  1. Maom2..are you planning on taking the sub test in Biology?
  2. Hi Arvind, 2 wholesome months of preparation are more than sufficient to crack the GRE. I hope you have already begun memorising your Barron's world list ( u must know that on the tip of your tongue) Also, for Quant, if you have a math background then daily practice and preview of the type of questions is more than sufficient. If you have the BigBook..do utilise that for daily practice..the questions might be a little simpler..but that book does wonders in terms of getting acclimitised to the test. Try and solve all 27 tests. What other books are u using?
  3. Hi Arvind, when are you scheduled to take your GRE? If I know the time stipulation, I can guide you with the preparation more effectively. Cause otherwise, the prep is endless and you can be lost in the deluge of material :)
  4. congratulations to you too Bohemian and good luck for the rest of the adventure :) I still need to take my TOEFL date..so bored to go back to a computer screen again!
  5. I agree with Bohemian..3 months is more than adequate to raise your verbal score by a 200. I would advise you to know your Barrons word list inside out. Agreed, some of the words do not come from Barrons..but the outside words that do come...always have a 'root of origin' quite similiar to a word you already know. If you know the meaning of the main words, even a sentence completion becomes a cake walk. I found the options given to any question in a GRE verbal test too OBVIOUS to even get bogged down to what is right/wrong. Learn your words like its a story..discuss them with friends..try to make bridges or stories about their origin...and if i can be of any help, do let me know :) I need to still take my TOEFL date and a sub GRE is also under consideration ( a little confused about that right now) Good luck!
  6. Thanks Seagull and vackamania, though this is just half the battle won...:)
  7. Hello, I'm just done with my GRE (1450) and I'm looking towards giving a GRE subject test in Biology.I'm a little confused. Is there only one test containing biochem and cellular biology or is there also another one only in BIology? I've studied Medicine and looking towards applying for a Masters programme. Also, what are the books used for a test in Biology? I hope someone here can throw more light on this state of utmost quandary!
  8. The day has finally come..The day for ME to write MY GRE experience. For the past year or so I've been cruising through this forum..apprehensively viewing all the feedback..envying those who were done and sympathising with those who were lost in the deluge of words and nos. like me. My GRE experience hasn't been quite different from the ones who went before me. Only, that since I have done Medicine...I had lost touch with nos. and getting back to quant was rather intimidating..honestly, I did think that the quant section was fairly simple, its only the time factor that makes you get all edgey. My advice would be very similiar to everybody elses so I don't think I want to type out a vehement speech :) BUT if any of you would like to know anything specific...just shoot and i'll try my best to reply. But to all of you who are embarking on this GRE experience...trust me, you are in for one of the most exciting emotional roller coaster ride..the entire exam process is like an adrenaline gush within you..building up as you trudge through every question...and that last moment..your last click which brings you to your score..was for me, the cascade of this entire rise of emotions. I stared at the screen with tears of disbelief! Its a feeling, everyone should work for...its ineffable and momentous. Anyways, since my experience sounds more of a spiritual journey than an exam, I shall lay my speech to rest. I've done my MBBS..and now look forward with great acumen towards my application process. Is anyone out here also doing Medicine? Just want to say a big thank you to this forum...you've been helpful in more ways that you know. Keep up the good work and Keep shining!!!
  9. soporifix..good luck for your exam and do write your experience ASAP since my exam is on the 30th!!!
  10. congrats on your score. could u throw some light on the questions asked to u?good luck!
  11. thanks gunsharp..anything else I ought to know? :)
  12. Thanks for the prompt reply. What were the probability ones like?
  13. HEY gunsharp, Awesome score man! N thanks for taking the time to write about your experience. Could you throw some more light on the quant bit of it? What other questions were you asked? I'm giving my GRE in 5 days..and definitely full of jitters :)
