  1. Hello mods, just noticed my thread was posted twice, please delete this one.
  2. Hey folks, Hope all is well. Hoping to get some feedback on my profile. I am applying for a Masters in Financial Economics. I can't recall specifically my GPA, but I know it is close to or equal to 3.70 overall and 3.53 for Econ and Math Specific. I have taken the following math classes: Calc I (A), Calc II (C, I know low mark, but this class was tough for me), Calc III (B), Differential Equations (A), Probability Theory (A), Linear Algebra (B), Statistics (A). For those who would like to know my econ grades, Econometrics (A), Intermediate Micro (B+), Intermediate Macro (A), Advance Macro (At least at our university, the professor said it was) (A). I am looking at Master's in Financial Economics and would also like to end up doing work in International finance. Took a class and got an A in the course and absolutely loved it. I would share my GRE scores, but I am taken it at the end of this month. based on projections from practice test (160 Q) and paper test (162), which I would like to score higher of course. Thank you for the feedback and if any of you know a program that I should look into as well, let me know. Take care everyone.

  4. I am done this fall as a undergraduate. I have access to a community college to take math classes, but not upper division based classes. As for my financial situation, I am currently taking out loans to pay for school, but my debt level isn't relatively high. What would you suggest to do if I take a fifth year for school and to get my profile into that top 10 range?
  5. Hello Everyone! I am new to this forum and I have some burning questions for you all that will be highlighted below. Here is my academic profile for you all to see: PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: Undergraduate Undergrad GPA: 3.70 Type of Grad: None Grad GPA: None GRE: Not Yet Math Courses: Calculus I (A), Statistics (A), Calculus II © Econ Courses (grad-level): None Econ Courses (undergrad-level): Intermediate Macro (A), Intermediate Micro (B+), Econometrics (A), Seminar in International Finance (A), Money and Banking (A), Seminar in Labor Economics (A), Advance Macroeconomics (A), Game Theory © Other Courses: Managerial Finance (A) Letters of Recommendation: Not yet Research Experience: Data mined for a professor who is conducting research on exchange rates Teaching Experience: None, just a tutor for a semester Research Interests: Labor Economics and International Finance SOP: Concerns: I am concerned with the two C's that I received in Game Theory and Calc 2 (However, I am going to take the final for this class on Monday and I can fail it on purpose and can retake to get a better grade. I state I have a C because that is the likely grade I will receive). Should I drop it and retake it? I know my profile is very vague and not enough information regarding test scores and additional math classes, but I be taking Calc III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Proofs, and Real Analysis. I also was given the impression that Calc II isn't necessarily used for Econ, but I still have to take it (This was given to me by my Adviser). Would it be better for me to go get a masters first then apply? Other: Applying to: I would like to apply to University of Chicago, Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, UC Davis, Berkeley, UC San Diego, Sanford, and Yale. I have told numerous people about these programs and of course I get laughed at, but with hard work I'm sure its obtainable. Please be as honest as you can. I am 22 years old and I am willing to put in the work to get into the program I desire. Thanks again everyone and have yourself a good day.
