  1. Thanks jrdonsimoni. I guess it all comes down to: is the extra two years of coursework worth whatever prestige boost Warwick gives me over Bristol. I'm curious to see what the consensus is on that.

  3. Hi everybody, I'm hoping you can help me out with some info. I've received offers from both Warwick and Bristol. Warwick has accepted me into the MRes which leads directly to their PhD and Bristol has accepted me directly into their PhD (no further course work/faster completion). I have a masters from the US but I'm moving to the UK to be with my partner. My goals are less in academia and more in the public/private sphere (central banks, private banks, international orgs, etc). The benefit of Warwick is it is better ranked, while Bristol will get me into the job market in time with my original planning. I'm wondering if there is an appreciable difference in placement quality between the two or whether Warwick's higher ranking only really matters in academia. Thanks in advance.
