Hi!
I am planning to apply to PhD programs this fall. I need an advice on which BEST programs I am likely to (or not) get admitted to.
Here is my profile:
BA in Economics from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (CGPA=3.89) (I did 40% of the credits in a community college with GPA 3.94, the rest was in Minnesota I got 3.858, so combined is 3.89).
GRE Score:
Quant: 160, verbal: 159, AWA: 4.0
Math Classes: Calc 1(A),2(A), Linear Algebra& Differential Equations (A-), Multivariate Calculus (A), Advanced Calculus 1 (B+).
Graduate: I am starting an MSc in economics at University of Amsterdam in 2 weeks.
LOR: One from Fatih Guvenen (UMN), probably the other two will come from my professors at University of Amsterdam.
Research Experience: Not really academic, but I worked as an economic analyst for a small financial advisory firm for 14, months, and I assume the master's program would include some research work besides the Thesis.
Age at application: 29, Nationality: Egypt.
I have prepared a preliminary list: UC Berkeley, UT Austin, U British Columbia, Stockholm School of Economics, Oxford, Tinbenergen Institute in Holland, University of Bonn in Germany, University of Mannheim.
So what is up with this situation? What should I add, and what should I omit?
Thank You!
