  1. Thank you! I'm not "not wanting to interview", just want to be more targeted in the preparation process (e.g. If half of the schools don't do interview, I could focus on the remaining schools).
  2. In addition, Yale said on the website that interview is not part of the admission process. So I am not sure.
  3. Thanks! Are you sure that MIT interviews student? I heard some rumors that they directly made offers in the past or in the form of writing a review of the paper rather than talking with professors.
  4. Some programs generally interview students before making a decision, some not. I am wondering whether these (quant) marketing programs interview or not: Chicago Harvard MIT Wharton Yale Could anyone comment on it? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for your great answer and your time spent on it(I believe many other people will benefit from this post for it suits for different fields)! I think I may modify the title of this thread to prevent people not interested in "Quant Marketing Programs_Analytical Modeling" to click on this thread and read your above post that will be helpful for them. BTW, I know Stanford has several professors on the quant side doing great and interesting field experiment works; just miscalled those as empirical work(is it not appropriate?) for I thought they analyze the data collected from the experiment. And their experimental/empirical works are also interesting though I really want to do some(may not be all) analytical works. I will definitely apply for Stanford!
  6. Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate. I admit that my question was vague. I did look at the papers and all the programs I mentioned have faculty doing research that I'm interested in. However, I'm not sure whether there are enough faculty members that could give me guidance if I enter the programs. So, let me ask in another way. How many professors working on topics that I'm interested in is necessary for the training of a PhD student? An extreme case is Stanford, where all but one professors do empirical work. But I'm extremely interested in the research done by the only professor there doing some theoretical works. Do I even need to consider Stanford (let's not focus on whether Stanford will consider me at present)? Thank you all again!
  7. Hi all, I'm interested in quant marketing. More specifically, I'm interested in analytical modeling. What are some PhD programs in the US that are good places for analytical modeling? I have a rough idea that MIT, Berkeley, Duke, Wharton, Columbia and CMU may be good places to look at. What are your opinions and what are the differences among those programs (and probably others that I didn't mention) in terms of the theoretical research? Thank you all!
