  1. Same. All that wait for a sentence long rejection, tackily sent out in a mass email. Lol.
  2. I emailed UMich, and got a response a day later. This is what I was told: "Thank you for your email. We don't have a set date yet as to when all of our decisions will be released, but we anticipate sharing all decisions this week." So I guess we are just waiting to see it tomorrow? Who knows. Fed up.
  3. Received a pretty instant reply from UMD, was a rejection. Waiting on UMich now, but I imagine the outcome will be the same. Has anyone received/heard anything about funding from FSU? It's literally looking like my only acceptance this season, but I still haven't been notified if i'm receiving funding or not... was told that they will inform via email, but that was 3 weeks ago.
  4. The utter lack of notification in this whole process has been driving me absolutely wild. I've been checking this forum + gradcafe multiple times a day since November. Maybe a bit of overkill, but the sheer amount of anxiety this process has generated isn't trivial. And now it's 7 days until April 15th, and I still have yet to hear about funding from 1 program, and a reject/accept from a few. Not even being told if i'm waitlisted or not! I know the probability that I get into any of the remaining programs I've applied for is low, but still, i'd like the closure...
  5. With regards to Maryland, I emailed a couple of weeks back and was informed that they "tend not to make it through the whole waitlist." I wasn't rejected, nor have I heard about a waitlist at all since then. Not sure what's really going on, other than that they're taking their sweet *** time. I also haven't heard from Michigan and UNC. I had my applications pretty much finished late November... tired of the waiting + false hope. Has anyone heard anything about funding from FSU? It is literally my only acceptance so far, and i'm not even sure if i'm getting funding.
  6. Oh, they already sent out offers? Geez.
  7. Can anyone confirm the UNC acceptance on GC? The poster in question claims to have heard something as early as January, but on their website they claim that the don't send offers until Mid march. This is the last good school that I haven't been rejected/implicit rejection yet, and so i'm really riding on this one.
  8. On GC someone posted about Maryland waitlists. Can anyone confirm that they have made a waitlist and sent it out? I was really riding on this one, too. This really sucks, because I might actually go 0 for 10 this cycle. Ffs.
  9. I haven't heard anything from UVA, so take it for what you will.
  10. I applied to Penn also but have no received any notifications or changes to my online status. So n=2 for the waitlist? (fingers crossed)
  11. Sure is nice to see all of the acceptances go out and not hear anything...
  12. Throw in more math and keep the GPA high and I don't see how you couldn't get into a school breaching the top 30, which is by no means a bad thing. High GRE scores and research positions/independent would also look good and help you out. I have a similar profile to yours but just with more math and that's where my target interval is at for this grad cycle. If you have time, consider even taking graduate econ classes if you can, and do well on the GRE.
  13. Can anyone verify the UNC acceptance on GC? Looks a bit early compared to their previous acceptances, so my instinct is someone just BSing or hit the wrong school.
  14. Anyone have any info from Penn? There was just a posting on gradcafe for an acceptance to their PhD program, and I currently see no status changes on my account.
  15. Given that a lot of highly ranked programs receive 600+ applications, you can probably assume that not everyone is going to get an interview. And just because you applied to Wharton and got an interview doesn't mean you're going to Wharton: maybe you'll go to HBS or MIT or whatever. The matching process takes some time, and although it's nerve-wracking, you won't know for 100% until the school literally tells you that you are either accepted or rejected.
  16. In applying to some programs, I notice that they say that their stipend is need-based. Some applications even ask if you are capable of funding yourself. To demonstrate this "need base," would it be wise to fill out FAFSA even if you aren't intending on taking out loans? I know some programs flat out say that if you gain entrance to the program you get a stipend, but some of them weren't as clear.
  17. I applied to UF on December 15 as a safety. Just like every other school I applied to, I thoroughly read the application instructions and made sure I wasn't forgetting about including any files for my application and making sure I have the deadlines correct. I just received an email from a coordinator saying that they are not admitting students for Fall 2017. I went to their application panel to check, and it now officially displays that they are not accepting applications until Fall 2018... with a page edit date of January 11, 2017. Oh, and the coordinator says that they don't allow refunds. Am I the only person here that this happened to? I know I make stupid mistakes occasionally, but I know for sure I would have noticed such a memo and then applied elsewhere. This strikes me as ridiculous, as any good Economics PhD program starts expecting applications as early as November, yet they don't display that they aren't taking applications until after most schools have their deadlines? What?
