Hi all, I am planning on applying to Finance PhD programs next fall (entry fall 2019) and I hope to use the next year to improve my resume and boost my application. I would highly appreciate any comments/tips/concerns.
Here are my stats:
Undergrad: BS in Math and Finance at a public state university in the South
GPA: about 3.7 (includes classes from math/finance major, spanish minor, and electives)
Work Experience: a few internships including one summer at a bulge bracket bank
GMAT: 640
At this point I know that the GMAT score is going to hurt me, so I am planning on taking the GRE to see if I perform better. Additionally, I will be working as an RA over the next year (no undergrad research experience) alongside a full-time job (Finance related). I also do some math tutoring, not sure if that's worth mentioning. I hope to learn some coding too (i.e. R, Python)
Any thoughts? I'll take any and all positive/negative comments.
