  1. yea. does not give us a lot of time until deadline to decide
  2. I wish it were true that they made their minds before calling for interviews. Maybe it is true. But, I got grilled pretty hard about the research questions I want to pursue. I was not prepared with specific hypotheses or methods in mind. I don't know if they were looking for those specifically, but it seemed like they were grasping at specific tactical decisions I would make were I accepted. Hope to meet you at the HBS visit weekend
  3. Interview with Harvard Business School. Found out today. Interview's tomorrow. Wow I'm intimidated. Anybody have tips?
  4. I just emailed them, introduced myself, my interests, attached a resume, and asked if I could have a short conversation with them. At many schools, faculty are responsive and willing to talk if they sense similarity in interests
  5. Thanks! Good question. Interesting answer. I did not have a traditional interview. That is, I did not talk to faculty or answer their questions, after I applied, while they reviewed applications. Rather, before I submitted my application, I had already skyped and emailed and called with several faculty, and I think that, through those conversations, they got what they needed. It worked out great because I felt confident, and in control of those conversations, when I was talking to them as an aspiring applicant rather than as a competing candidate. I don't know if this works with other programs.. but it did for UCSB
  6. Notification Type: Phone & Email Institution Name: University of California Santa Barbara Concentration: Technology Management Program Date of Notification: Jan 24, 2018 Type of Notification: Acceptance
  7. Nevermind, I just saw this! I haven't heard anything from any of my schools yet :/
  8. Hey Cilanthropy, congrats on the interview! great way to start 2018 How did it go? What were your general impressions?
  9. Hey Cilantrophy! Looks like we have some overlap in schools, but i'm aimed more for sociological research and you more for psychological/behavioral research. Good luck with the process! As for european schools.. what do you think is are non-obvious differences between the typical European and American grad student life experiences (e.g., quality of living, studying, working, social life, financials, professional relationships, etc.)
  10. Hi all, I am applying this round for organizational behavior type programs. I thought it would be helpful if we applicants connected with each other, and braced the anxiety-inducing waiting period together! I have applied to: HBS OB, Stanford MS&E, Tepper OB, Sloan OS, INSEAD OB, and Olin (washu) OB Anybody else apply to any of these? I'm also very unfamiliar with european (non-us) phd programs. Does anybody have insight about graduate student life in Europe?
