  1. FYI to those waiting on the UCLA waitlist, I asked them and they told me we should expect to hear decisions by March 26th!
  2. Thank you all for the feedback! I'll double down on my RA search. Do y'all have suggestions on where else to look? I'm using the NBER site (non-NBER jobs page), applied at SIEPR, etc. I'll also be asking some profs for tips.
  3. GRE is 170Q. I also think that RA is the best option, and I do have applications pending, but it seems that many positions have been filled. I'm also international, so I only have until ~June to secure a position, and I won't be eligible for Fed/NBER positions.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion! It seems my original reply didn't go through, but below is my profile. School: Top 20 US News, slightly lower for Econ GPA: 3.9 Major: Econ and Stat Econ courses: many, most advanced are PhD Micro (A-) and metrics (A) Math courses: Calc I-III, multivariable calculus honors, linear algebra honors, real analysis, all A or A+ Research: RA for several non-econ profs, Econ senior thesis in progress Rec letters seem to be good based on feedback from profs. SoP is standard (interested in applied micro). Staying an extra year may potentially be an option, although I'm basically maxed out on Econ electives. I could take more Math, but I'm not sure it would be worth the extra semester or two. I've also recently looked into European masters, and found that the tuition costs are reasonable and the deadlines are much later, so it could be an option! Hope this helps and thanks for any advice.
  5. Thanks for the suggestion! School: Top 20 US news (a little lower for Econ) GPA: 3.97, overall and major Major: Econ, Stat Econ courses: plenty, most advanced of which are PhD micro (A-) and metrics (A) Math courses: Calc I & II, linear algebra honors, multivariable calculus honors, real analysis, math for econ (all A or A+) GRE: 170Q Rec letters should be pretty good based on my conversation with profs. SoP is standard, interests in applied micro. Delaying graduation by a year is potentially an option, but is not ideal. I'm also not sure if it would strengthen my record significantly (I guess I could take some more Math? But I would say I'm close to maxed out on the Econ electives).
  6. Hey yall, I'm looking for suggestions on what to do in case my waitlists/pendings are all rejections. I have some RA applications pending, but I'm finding that at this point most positions are filled so it's not very likely for me to get one of those (still trying though!). MA programs also aren't really an option. Thanks :encouragement:
  7. Do we know if Princeton, Chicago Booth have waitlisted applicants already? Not counting on it, but just wondering.
  8. not 10 minutes after posting this I got waitlisted at UCLA...maybe I'll end up in California after all??
  9. Congrats yall! marking down Berkeley as implicit...nothing really left for me now!
  10. okay, berkeley, please come out today or you're all i'll be thinking about over spring break...
  11. When are we expecting UCLA though? Are they late relative to previous years?
  12. My implicits...will you be explicit today?
  13. I'm confused though. I thought they emailed people a few days ago? Are they calling those same people? Sidenote: if I ever end up in an admissions committee I will endeavor to not play with people's feelings like this :sorrow::sorrow:
  14. same here, none from columbia on website & email...although they're probably just rolling out rejections slowly
