I agree with Khadija if she didn't make typo miss here ;) that D is the right answer for question 1,because it needs subject and verb
what I know that if sentence like this ...A..,..B... so there are two clauses and both of them should have subject and verb,or maybe a reduced clause. like:
*Before deciding to have a surgery,you should get a second opinion.
here deciding is reduced clause and the second clause has subject and verb(you + get)
but what about this sentence ..A..,..B..,..C.. I know that C should resume the clause A like
*The construction material,a rather grainy type of wood,gave the room rustic feeling.
in this C resume the A clause with verb but what about B? does it needs subject and verb? and when B consider wrong?
another sentence to clear my point:
*the company president,needed a vacation,boarded a plane for the Bahamas.
here needed should be needing but why? I thought that B has no effect on the A clause!
