I have private loans from my undergrad. Is it a good idea to take out federal graduate loans to pay off my undergrad private loans? I feel like its better to have federal than private loans. But I don't know if this is even possible/legal or something people do. Just looking for some advice

I emailed UWashington last week about by application. Should be hearing back from them today or tommorow. Also expect to hear back from Temple this week. Wish me luck!

Rejected from UMass. Pretty surprised as one of my letters of recommendation was written by a UMass professor & former chair of the econ department

I emailed UMass yesterday and they said their decisions are going out by early next week

I've talked to several industry people who say that a PhD is very necessary for their career goals. These are folks with a masters, in industry, and going back to graduate school for the PhD. Maybe the people I was talking to aren't very representative of the overall facts tho!

For what its worth, it seems to be that job placement for even low ranking schools is really good. Like, I now that at Northeaster, a rank 90 program, the majority of their grads go into 6 figure salary industry jobs immediately upon graduating

Looks like I probably won't receive a funding offer from American U. Pretty surprised as they accepted my back in December. Oh well. I'm in at Pitt and although I'm on the funding waitlist the email I got sounded promising that they would eventually make an offer. Still waiting on UWash, UMass, UCSB, BU, Temple, and Northeastern
