  1. TOPIC: Understanding the past is of little use to those in current positions of leadership. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. ESSAY: A successful leader is the one who can motivate and unitedly lead his/her team to success. A path full of failures and successes leads a person to zenith. Before being called a leader, the person must have faced hardships. Learning from ones own mistakes is crucial to avoid them from happening again. Just like in case of a corporate manager or team leader ; understanding and analysing the past is important to lead the team to their heyday. Maybe during his/her own duration of being under someone else's leadership, the person came across unexpected results, or faced conflicts with the team members. Remembering how the issues were solved during that time and understanding that the same could aid during the struggles of someone relying on your leadership could greatly help managing the things at hand. Moreover, it is said that it is fine to make imstakes but not to commit same mistake repeatedly. This can be made possible only if we learn from our past and decode the scenario well enough not to make the same mistake again. If a person in currect position of leadership will have a reign full of fallacies, then how is a team, that is supposed to be inspired from that person, work righteously? I agree that with times, scenarios and problem statements drastically change. This could lead to rendering the past learnings of no help. For example, with expanding semicondustor industry, the technology nodes at which engineers are working have been changing rapidly. A person in current position of leadership might have faced 180nm technology node and related technical issues during his regime of learning as a junior employee; whereas a person working under his leadership now might face issues on 7nm technology nodes. This might make it difficult for the manager/ team leader to resolve issues swiftly inspite of being cautious in implementing learnings from the past. But, at the same time, the understanding that such issues continue as hurdles and recalling how human resources must be inspired to implement their academics to practical scenarios, a team lead can comfortably cross any obstacle. Since the beginning of his/her regime a person crosses many hurdles. Learning from past experiences can greatly help a person lead a wise and properly managed life - be it at work or at home.
