  1. Congratulations! Great profile!
  2. Congratulations! You're getting in everywhere!
  3. Congratulations. It sounds like a great program! I didn't know you were applying for Statistics--weren't you in engineering?
  4. I was gonna say if you don't get in this year, you can always wade the waters and apply again. Nothing lost here.
  5. My impression was that economics was dominated by int'ls. Very few Americans in comparison to South Americans (a surprisingly large number of them), Europeans and Asians. It's hard to generalize, but I'd say it's a 3:7 ratio. Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if you get into the top ones Econ, judging from your early admits so far.
  6. PP1 : 720V; 740Q (1 month before test) PP2: 770V;800Q (1 week before test) ETS 7 paper tests: beginning with 700V; 700Q (7-8 weeks before test) ending with 720V; 800Q (2 weeks before test) Princeton Review & Kaplan free practice tests: around 780V; 800Q each (1 week before test) - don't bother taking these tests; too easy and real questions are harder. Real Test: 750V; 710Q
  7. Congratulations Econ! You deserve this for being so kind and generous to us at this forum. I've really learned a lot from you. An aside, what is it with Greeks and economics? I've met a few economists and the really smart ones were Greek. There was a really successful Greek economist I met a few years ago plus my intermediate micro professor was Greek (brilliant man!). I think it must be in your genes or something. Best of luck on the rest of your admits!
  8. That's it. My last post here.
  9. I can't believe you are accusing me of lying. I assure you I did score an 800 because I went to a prestigious math and science high school, where you had to pass a standardized SAT type test to get in, which is why I probably do well on these type of exams than a lot of people. You obviously have self-esteem problems. Can you please stop this "I am better than you" nonsense. You're wasting my time. If you read the beginning posts, I did not ask you for your advice. I don't even know you.
  10. Excuse me? I don't think you know anything about me, except stuff I posted on this thread which is definitely not a mini-bio of me. Math not my strength? My math score on my SAT was an 800. ETS's usual remedy on these situations (question left unanswered and such) is a nullification on past scores plus the option to take over the exam NOT a revision of your score. SO it is definitely not a 20 increase. Not to be a bit rude here, but I think the ETS people have been more sympathetic towards my case than you. Even "technician" has offered to talk to his higher ups to ask about offering me remedy of retaking my test. Bigred, I will probably take retest. 710 is definitely not what I was scoring on PP and I was really surprised how much a gamut the questions can run. Wish me luck.
  11. I'm not blaming you; but I think I have a right at blaming ETS. That answer should have been scored, and I probably got the answer right since I spent so much time on it, as opposed to other questions that I've guessed on. There was a window at the end asking whether I wanted the answer scored. Thus, my last answer should have counted. I don't think this is so complicated to understand. No I did not do very well on my GREs. The program I am applying for only looks at the Maths, so you can throw the verbal out the window. And a lot of people can easily score an 800. I think you should ask about my situation before making a lot of wrong assumptions.
