  1. What other background information would they have though? I remember filling out that I'm studying economics but I don't remember putting any other relevant information in. But I don't remember exactly what information it asked for after finishing the test.
  2. Yeah I got that email too. My understanding is that it's extremely difficult to get into HBS for an econ phd so I am confused as to why they sent out those emails just based off of GRE scores.
  3. Hey guys, I'm planning on applying to US PhD programs this fall. I am currently enrolled in a top masters in economics program in Canada. I have done well in all the few math courses I've taken (A+ in calc 1-3, lin alg, ODE) but I have not taken a course in real analysis. I am wondering how much this will hurt me if I'm applying to top 20 US econ PhD programs? Will good grades in my masters program and strong letters be able to make up for not having a real analysis course? I have been told by my advisors that I have a strong profile for top 20 programs, but I am worried by what I have read online about the importance of real analysis in admissions. The math camp for my masters program covered some topics in real analysis (set theory) and the courses involve a lot of proof writing, but I don't have a great sense of how US programs view the top Canadian masters programs. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Do adcoms normally look at your grades from the fall semester of the year that you are applying? I've seen that the deadline for submitting transcripts to most schools are in early December. I'm taking graduate level courses in micro and econometrics this fall and would like to have the grades as part of my profile. If I upload them in early to mid January, will they be looked at? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
