i can bet that math in actual gmat is not so easy as [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. actual gmat math questions are just like kaplan math.

hiya people, i am permanent resident. i took gmat yesterday and scored 710(q50 v37). i have 3.9 in B.E. and 3.0 in MS (Industrial Engg from Texas A&M Univ). i just have two years experience as Software Quality Assurance Engineer in America Online. what are my options for MBA apping?:) u think i can try haas....i have jus started contemplating about all this stuff...i do not have anything in the name of extracurricular activity....i am planning to apply in 2006...i am ready to do watever it takes in the name of extracurricular activity that will give the "wow" factor in my resume.... thanks a lot in advance!!:tup: rak

hiya people, thanks a lot for ur compliments :-) in general, i tend to be on the hasty side..so i am vulnerable to careless mistakes. rgd quant prep, according to me..."practice"..that is the buzz word. in the beginning, i used to make so many careless errors in DS. i jus practised on and on to pace up. when i did a mistake in DS/PS, howsoever trivial, i dissected the mistake and made sure i never repeat it. i think that helped. gmat does not really require a genius. when i did my first two kaplan tests, i did pathetically in both quant n verbal. i got 560 n 570. i did not even have time to complete last 5 to 7 questions!! so i slowed down, worked on my quant speed n precision n then took the third kaplan cat. this time, i could nail it with a 50 in quant and finished well ahead of time! well that sure implied that i made good progress. as i practised a LOT, i got so used to the questions..so when i saw the quant questions in actual gmat, i did not even have to calculate much. jus had to scratch something by the side for the heck of it, so as to ensure i was not overconfident. only wish i had paid atleast some of that attention to rc and cr :-\ for sentence correction, check out www.wikigrammar.com. the website is jus awesome! i was also with www.scoretop.com and it helped a good deal. i did not use princeton extensively at all. i did not care abt barrens. i jus tried kaplan 800, kaplan cat, [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and scoretop forum. i prepared for gmat in full-fledge in april.. though i have been "supposedly" preparing from november last week. LOL. i was very playful about it till april 1st. i have seen some posts of grey-cells for some permutation questions. they are so clear and crisp! i am sure you guys are gonna crack gmat too!! cheers raki

Hi people, Jus got done with gmat. 710 - Q ->50 V ->37. This score is totally attributed to my husband, who cooperated in every facet for my preparation and motivated me all the time. honestly speaking, i expected more than 40 in verbal. i got really yucky RC passages....well, i am glad i am done http://www.scoretop.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif math was a piece of cake. i finished 30 mins ahead of time. sc was easy. couple of CR questions were tricky. like i mentioned earlier, rc sucked big time. obviously i lacked sound prep in verbal. i must have devoted more time in cr and rc. i wish i had focussed on verbal prep.... the essays were really easy. i finished 10-15 mins ahead of time. powerprep did nothing but boost my confidence. i got 770 and 760 in powerprep....mainly becoz i had finished [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] prior to that. in the last kaplan cat that i took, i got 50! just the same mark i got in my final gmat! i took just one princeton test and one ets retired test. cheers raki

Target, you are right on target :-) dont worry! a 680 in kaplan that too in ur first test is an awesome score!!

If n is an integer from 1 to 96, what is the probability for n*(n+1)*(n+2) being divisible by 8 generally, total number of digits divisible by 8 frm 1 to 96 = [(96-8)/8] + 1 = 12 so when we go back to the question, n(n+1)(n+2) will be divisible by 8, whenever n or n+1 or n+2 is divisible by 8...also whenever (n+1)*n or n(n+2) is divisible by 8...which makes the number of digits divisible by 8 as 12+12+12+12+12 == 5*12 total set of numbers going through the formula n(n+1)(n+2) == 96 probability == 5*12/96 == 5/8 == 62.5% :-)

Kaplan = 550, 560, 570 Princeton = 590 Petersons = 640 Only Ets Test Paper Taken So Far = 800 (!!!! => May Be Becoz I Completed Most Of Og Already) I Suck At Princeton N Kaplan Tests... Yet To Take My Real Gmat...any Comments Welcome :-)

I am planning to work on retired paper tests(ETS) and PR review tests, one more kaplan and 800 score tests if time permits.. I understand that 750+ is a big deal...but I want to try my best...and wondering wat I can do to reach out further..
