  1. I do not qualify for their TOEFL requirement. 4 points below the minimum in one area. Would it be a waste of time and money to apply for Yale and Cambridge's phd programs? Thank you.
  2. Hi. A short question. Is it a good idea to describe what was taught in courses(especially math) you took in your SOP? Here we say "introduction to analysis" instead of "real analysis" and "real analysis" instead of "measure theory" Also I have some seminar courses that do not say what were their topic. So, all in all, is it a good strategy to describe the courses? Thank you:)

But the writing is somewhat mediocre and maybe below average Econ Classes: introductory Micro: A+, intermediate Micro: A+, grad level Micro: A intermediate Macro: A- undergrad level econometrics: A, grad Level econometrics: A+ econ Statistics: A+, Grad level Econ Statistics: A+ two undergrad applied micro (Labor, IO): A+, B+ one grad level applied micro : A+ game Theory: B+, two grad level Micro Theory classes: A+, A+ Math Classes: Calc 1, Linear Algebra 2: A Calc 2, Linear Algebra 1, Topology, Intro to analysis 1,2(Rudin's PMA level), Undergrad level Real analysis(Folland), Grad level Real analysis(Rudin's RCA): A+ Other Experience: One semester RA, One semester TA LORs: One from my advisor(currently enrolled in Master's program), two from econ professors who gave me A+ Two questions mainly: Any chance for Top 20? Would mediocre Gre writing matter? I am considering retaking it (but then I suspect my V would go down given that I forgot almost all the vocabularies for GRE).
