  1. I totally get you what you are saying. I am in the same boat. I see people getting acceptances or interview invites every day on the gradcafe, and my inbox is so quiet. I did a very risky sort of follow-up (can't elaborate on how or what as there are business school reps here on urch), and learned that I was not in consideration or short-list in four Universities. From the rest of the Unis, either I got replies that their process is ongoing or no replies. At this moment, when I am typing, I am stressed out. I know that I should keep myself calm and there is nothing much that I can do except for waiting, but we humans have a very odd sort of psychological makeup, and we don't like to lose, be it a Ph.D. admission offer or a tennis match. Anyway, I even saw that the Ross (Uni of Michigan) had rolled out some rejections on the 2nd Feb, and the pattern of the Uni of Michigan is that they roll out all the rejections for one particular program on one day. They did the same for Mathematics, and some other programs. Thus, I am not sure whether to feel optimistic or pessimistic? Again, I am not sure about which areas did the Ross roll our rejections in? Also, I think even the Questrom have starting rolling acceptances today. Congratulations to the ones who are getting this notifications. :) But is there anyone else who is refreshing his/her inbox every hour like me and eagerly waiting for some sorta notification?
  2. I saw on the graduate that Kellogg rolled out quite a few acceptances and wait-list in various fields. According to the pattern of the Northwestern University, they roll out rejections on the same day as the acceptance and wait-list for that particular program. I have received no notification of any sort. Is anyone aware about what's happening with the Kellogg??
  3. Agree. All we gotta do is stay positive. :)
  4. I had followed the QS rankings for my process, but I agree that matching with the research interests of Universities is more important than rankings for PhD admissions.
  5. Hello, At some places I read that if one doesn't get an interview offer till the mid-February the rejection is on the way. I have also heard of tales of students getting accepted without an interview. Also I have read on websites of good number of universities that an interview is not required to be considered for the PhD position. I searched this forum for this topic, with a variation of keywords, but I couldn't find a thread pertaining to this concern, so I created this thread. If anyone has seen a thread about this, it would be great if you could share it with us. I had contacted some professors in the late 2018, and they had said some positive stuff. Thus, I was optimistic about my chances this time, but it has been very silent so far. :( Is it a common practice to get positive responses from professors? If anyone is in the same boat as me, it would be great to connect and sail together. Does it help to send follow up emails to the department or professors of the universities in which we are interested in? Or is it better to just wait? Also, it would be nice to hear from you about the chances of acceptance if we have not received any interview invitations till now. Best of luck to everyone for this season. :)
  6. Thanks guys for suggestions. I feel better about the submission now. On a new note, I can't seem to find the 18th Jan info on the Ross website. Best of luck to the ones who already got invited for interview or admission. For the rest of us, has anyone ever got direct admit through notification in March or April with no prior movement in Jan or Feb?
  7. Hello, I am new to this forum. It gives me peace to be here. Does submitting the application on the last date create a negative impression? Is there any way to convey to the ad comm that it was due to being busy and not because of lack of motivation to pursue the program? It's great to sweat together. I am kinda stressed out.
