  1. Shalini, yes, the remainder would be 20. Regarding verbal : I think I maxed the Sentence correction questions. My RC was pretty straightforward as well. All in all, I think the standard of questions was very similar to the OG level. I think it makes a big difference if you have prepared well for the essays. I practiced about 10 essay topics the day before the test. There are certain topics that one can find common between most of the issues/arguments listed in the OG. Try to read up on these topics : History (why we need to study it?), Business ethics, Use of technology in business, environmental preservations. All the best!
  2. First of all, Vaithy, you are correct. (y = 3x, for the geometry qn that I listed a few posts ago). Regarding the geom preparation, I think you should definitely be good with properties of circles (for instance, chord perpendicular to radius, inscribed angle theorem, areas of sectors, right angled triangle formed with the diameter as the base). For triangles, prepare well - isosceles triangles, Pythagoras thm. Parallelograms - Rhombus (area). Most definitely a question regarding the area of a pathway around a rectangular garden. I did not get too many questions on number properties.
  3. Real GMAT 770 Kaplan 4 tests 670 640 650 610 PowerPrep 770 750 Kaplan is good to get a feel of optimal timing on the test. It makes you feel great when u take the PowerPrep tests after that.
  4. Math was generally similar to OG. However, there were a few "apparently" difficult questions. For instance, there was a very interesting geometry question. It looked scary at first, but when I got down to solving it, it unfolded pretty well. There was a big diagram which showed a circle (wish I could draw it here) with diameter MN and center T. The diameter extends to the left upto point P (so imagine PMN forms a straight line). Draw another line intersecting the circle at points Q and R. Given that angle RTN = y and angle QPN = x. Also, PQ = QT. Express y in terms of x. The diagram scared me a little, but then I felt confident that I was presented with this difficult looking question only because I had probably got all my previous answers correct. Turns out I answered all my questions correct. There were atleast 2 compound interest problems, atleast 2 Venn diag problems, a couple of probability (none regarding std deviation or Normal dist) questions, and a couple of "remainder" based problems. Example : If n is a negative integer, then there exists only one negative integer m for a positive integer q, s.t. n = mq + r where 0 So, the questions although straightforward are worded in a weird way to confuse you. If you keep your cool, you will do well. The Verbal section seemed pretty straightforward too...I guess I was confident that I had done the Q section well, so I found the going pretty easy. I never managed to get 44 in Verbal in any practice test, but I think my confidence helped me in the test. Just go there thinking you are going to get a fabulous score and keep your cool.
  5. Testmagic rocks! 51 in Q 44 in V 770 overall. Guys..prepare your geometry questions well. Had a bunch of them (and some difficult ones as well) on my test.
