many advice not to waste time preredading the questions. May be each person should identify which better fits his own. In any way i think practice helps as much as time allows. And i think it helps not to worry as the long passeges are the problem of most, if not all exam takers- let's all not panic...the passseges are quite difficult to answer with the limited time...

I think we can not use permutation or combination. We couldnot repeat the digits in case of these permutation and combination (for eg. 7777, 7097)- however we are not restricted not to construct such a number in the question. So this is a counting problem that we should solve by multiplying the number of possibilities for each position like what danielman did.

I think permutation questions are not new to GRE. The same to profit and loss questions. elementary counting problem highschool books may help.

An equilateral triangle is inscribed in a circle. How much is the ratio of the area of the triangle to the area of the circle?
