  1. Real1:670 test score: none.(I hadn't still finish the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] yet at that time) Real: 760(Q50,V42) test score: KAPLAN diagnostic test-730(I can't remember the exact scores of the two parts, but the score of Q was lower and M was little bit higher than actual scores. My Q score can be ignored cous I just selected some answers randomly....My only concern was verbal...) Prep: none.(I just used this for adapting the font size of RC.) My thought:kaplan test is good to indicate your status...
  2. my background: 1 year in regional credit agency which is now an affilliate of one of the big 3 credit agencies in the world and 5 years in a securitiy firm. I'm an analyst now, but will soon quit my job for some relex..and have a plan to get another job few months later.. my grade in university is not good(3.0/4.0). That's why I have to make a good score in GMAT. The problem is...I don't have a TOEFL score right now....I'll take the test soon anyway, but I'm not sure I can take the test in march...(I don't think the slots are likely to be available.) Is there any way to compensate for the toefl score with my GMAT score?....
  3. Thanks..guys. taf... I used my company's id to access the site of economist. I think you must pay for it. And xenaprincess...hekhek..., the level of the questions of 50~51 is similar to the kaplan 800's except for probability and statistics. Probability problems have a few catagories. You need to know about basic concept of the probability. If you acquire the basic concept, that'll be enough to solve the questions in GMAT. Statistic questions only ask you about mean, average, median, standard deviation. I didn't solve math in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] so I can't tell you how the actual test is more or less difficult than [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. I bet if you find the logic of quant in GMAT, you will pretty well solve 37 problems within 60 minutes.( In my last test, when I met last question in quant, 30 minutes left.)
  4. I finally maid it. English is not my maternal language so I have struggled to conquer it.... I started studying GMAT last october and I got 670 in my first try testing GMAT november(I already posted it) I felt that the most important thing is reading. When I took the test for the first time, I read and read again during solving the questions in verbal. I just solved 30 questions and got 30.(I got 50 in math at that time, and same again at this time.) The biggest help is kaplan 800. I tried it three days ago before test. It made a great help. It evoked every weaknesses in my verbal part. But kaplan is sucks. The problem in CD resisted my attempt to test CAT test...so I just took only diagnostic test(it demonstrated that my score would be 730) with spending my 30$. For 3 months, I have tried to improve my reading skill. That's why I can make 760. I read 100 articles in economist, especially science subject. Anyway, GMAT has requested my full energy for 5 months. I'm tired. but I'm happy cause I finished my GMAT. P.S Can I apply any top-10 MBA starting in 2005?
  5. P.S Bob800...I reaaally appreciate your wonderful contributions in SC forum....You're really of help to me...
  6. Who made this problem?????? If it is a real GMAT problem.... the only possible answer should be E....because we can't find the answer of which company's deviation is greater anyway^^ Since we have to know about all salaries of the company's workers to find out an exact deviation, only 1) or 2) cannot be a complete condition to determine which company's deviation is greater. Combining 1) with 2), still we don't know which is greater because though we use both conditions, the result cannot be met with original conditions above. Think about it. X company's average fee is 30000, its maximum salary 60000, and its salary range 30000. Please try to find possible sets to fit these conditions. No averages can be the minimum unless the ranges of sets are 0. So we don't know which is greater between two nonexistent sets. So I think, if this question is a serious one, the answer should be E.
  7. answer is B...I don't know how to use spoiler...
  8. You guys should consider minus.... There is no saying that X >0. So -8 also fit to above 2 conditions. We don't need to debate whether 0 is multiple of 5.....
  9. N is an integer and greater than 1, is N a prime number? 1)all of the prime factors of N are greater than cubic root N 2)all of the prime factors of N are greater than square root N
  10. x and y are integers. x + y = even? 1) x/(x+y) is odd 2) y/(x+y) is even
  11. boliver......You are right. In [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], we should avoid using "as" or "to be" when using the verb 'consider'. But if I have to choose the answer for above question, I will choose D. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English says, when the verb 'consider' is used in the passive voice, You can express as below. i.g)If you had only 2 weeks for studying GMAT, which one would be considered to be the first thing to study? Verbal? Math? Of course, Longman, like GMAT, suggests no usage of 'consider' followed by 'as' or 'to be' in the active voice. You know, we can say "It is believed that he has two kids" and also "He is believed to have two kids". That's why I think that we can use 'X is considered to be Y'. But I haven't met the questions which deal with such kind of usage in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and PT. So I don't think we can meet such question as above in real GMAT test. We'd better always consider the choice which use 'consider X as Y' or 'consider X to be Y' the wrong answer in real GMAT test. There is no choice but to choose 'D' for the answer in the question above. The only sentence which uses 'consider X Y' is C, but C can't be the right answer (literary historians were written????)
  12. I saw this problem few days ago...but I can't find where ithe exact thread is right now. I remember the dispute between choice A and D. I want to know the right answer. Please let me know the conclusion about this, and somebody tell me why. The strand fills with water during the rainy season that the peat then holds and keeps it humid, all of which creates conditions enabling trees to grow. A. enabling trees to grow. B. for the trees to grow. C. for growing trees. D. that enable the trees to grow. E. that the trees can grow.
  13. Yeh,.. C...I mean...Thanks your help!
