3. IELTS band descriptors are the set of skills which examiners look in your answers. Each component of the IELTS test has some set band descriptors which are used to evaluate your overall IELTS score. In this section, you can get familiar to the IELTS band descriptors for the Speaking test and know which skills to use while answering IELTS questions. 1. Fluency and Coherence Fluency shows how fluently you can express your thoughts in English. If you can speak clearly at length, without making any logical or grammatical errors or unnecessary pauses, then you can easily get a band 7 or higher in fluency and coherence. Remember, being fluent is not the only thing, you need to be logically correct, and this is what determines coherence, which is whatever you are saying, should also make sense. 2. Lexical Resource The lexical resource is the range of vocabulary which you use while speaking. The examiner assesses your vocabulary on the basis of what range of words you use in the test. To achieve good scores in the lexical resource, you should include creative and interesting vocabulary in your answers and also, make sure that you don't repeat the exact words used in the question. Try to paraphrase the words to avoid using repetitive vocabulary. 3. Grammatical Range Grammar is not only an important writing skill, but it has equal value in speaking component of the test as well. You need to have grammar accuracy in your sentences. Your sentence constructions are only accurate if they are grammatically accurate, which means your tenses, use of parts of speech, active and passive voice in speech, should all be accurate. If your answers don't sound grammatically correct, this would mean that you require a lot of improvement in the English language. 4. Pronunciation Pronunciation is a prominent speaking skill in the IELTS test. The examiner assesses you on your capability to be able to use different pronunciation features such as individual sounds, stress and intonation and this carries 25 per cent of your total IELTS speaking score. To improve your pronunciation, listen to native speakers online on podcasts or radio, see how they pronounce words differently. You can get a higher IELTS speaking score when you prepare according to the band descriptors. Make sure to practice for the speaking test with a person so you can improve your frequent errors. 4. Hi, everyone! Here I would like to share some strategies for IELTS speaking exam , that i have use to improve my IELTS score. 1) For Part 1: Keep your answers short and simple - just one or two sentences long. 2) For Part 2: As you're speaking, don't answer the bullet points one by one by one. Instead, focus on giving a complete description of the event, person, item, or whatever it is, and the bullet points will be answered anyway. Give as many specific details as possible. Also, do not try to use "complicated" or "difficult" grammar and vocabulary or your speaking could sound strange and non-native. 3) For Part 3: Your answers should be about 3-4 sentences long. Think of your Part 3 answer like a paragraph! Say your answer clearly, explain it, and then give a specific example.

7. IELTS has recently introduced computer-based IELTS tastes in few countries. In India IDP has come up with Computer-based IELTS exams in centers like Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc. In my opinion, IELTS computer-based would have some edge over the paper-based exams. Few of them are listed below: Result: computer-based IELTS have 4–5 days time span to declare result compared to 13–14 days in paper-based IELTS. Writing Module: for a computer savvy person who has good typing speed as compared to writing, will have an advantage. Because most of the immigrant applicant has stayed away from papers due to the work culture. They would be better off typing than writing on the paper. Also, people who have bad handwriting would be advocated to write on computers. Reading and Listening: few of the question types will simply have options to drag which will save some time. less crowded examination center: computer-based IELTS is recently started so there are not many applicants available on the same day mostly there would be 5–25 aspirants. which makes it comfy and convenient writing exams unlike paper based which seems to be chaos with 200–300 aspirants together writing exams. flexibility: Computer-based Ielts has flexibility and availability all around the month. As compared to paper-based IELTS which used to happen 2–3–4 times in a month, computer-based IELTS can be written more than 15–20 times in a month. which reduces the headache of getting exams slots. Good option for immigrants looking for quick results.
8. Should you take the GMAT or GRE for MBA admission? While the GMAT is designed specifically for business school applicants, the GRE is a test that can gain students admittance to graduate programs across almost all subjects, including the MBA. With 'management' forming part of its acronym, you might expect the GMAT to hold some sway over its GRE counterpart, if MBA admissions and related business master’s programs are the main goal. The test does place a heavier focus on quantitative and analytical skills - interpreting data presented in text, charts and tables to solve complex problems, for example. Tasks are therefore customized to evaluate skills seen as being specific to business managers. The GRE, as a more versatile test, has less of a focus of math and includes a calculator for its quantitative problems. However, for those for whom English is not their first language, the verbal section may be more challenging than the GMAT's, as it places an emphasis on vocabulary rather than on grammar. The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test - this means that the questions you answer correctly, or incorrectly, determine the difficulty level of the questions that follow. During the GMAT, students can't go back and review their previous answers. The GRE, meanwhile, is not a computer-adaptive test and allows students to check their previous answers. Ultimately, the GRE and GMAT have more in common than they have differences. To succeed at either, you'll need mastery of essential math—algebra, arithmetic, geometry, data analysis—as well as reading and critical reasoning skills and efficient test-taking strategies.

11. To excel in speaking section, I have only one suggestion “speak your heart out”, speak as much as you can. Try to elaborate as much as possible. Focus on phrasing grammatically correct and coherent sentences. You can try practicing in front of a mirror if you are unsure about your posture. Don’t be much worried about your accent, also don’t try to copy a particular accent. Be calm, confident and maintain proper eye contact. You will get one minute to think about the subject they will give you, utilize the time wisely. Write down the keywords what you want to convey. Sometimes it does happen that we think lots of stuffs to speak about back in our mind, but when it comes to execution we run short of words. Please make sure it doesn’t happen. Once again be relaxed, confident while you speak. I am sure you can nail those 15 minutes. One small tip: If you feel skeptical about your voice, accent and want to rectify your mistakes, please record each of your practice session and analyze them. Hope it helps. Cheers!!
12. Hi, It totally depend upon your area of interest, education and in which area u would like to research
13. One small difference between GRE and GMAT, which would matter to most of the students, is the cost. The cost for taking the GRE exam is $195, whereas for the GMAT it is $250. Though $55 dollars doesn’t make much of a difference, most of you might prefer taking the exam again if your scores weren’t up to the mark. This means you can save around $110 dollars if you’re taking the GRE. After taking the GRE, you have a lot of options. With a GRE score, you can apply for MS courses, MBA and PhD. Whereas GMAT is limited to business schools. Nowadays many potential MBA grads prefer taking the GRE instead of the GMAT. If you’re taking the GRE, you would find the quant part to be much easier than the GMAT. GMAT math is comparatively harder because all the top business schools require graduates with strong mathematical skills. In GRE, you can skip questions and move forward. Later, you can answers questions which you left unanswered. This allows you to manage time efficiently and also helps you take the test without any confusion. In GMAT, you cannot skip questions. This creates trouble while taking the exam. The emphasis on Grammar and Logical arguments is less in GRE. GRE stresses on vocabulary, whereas GMAT stresses on grammar and reasoning. GRE allows you to use the online calculator, whereas GMAT doesn’t allow you. One biggest advantage of GRE is that, there is no Integrated Reasoning section. The section combines the difficult parts of verbal and quant. You can escape from the 12 questions if you’re taking the GRE. GRE is also held at more centers compared to the GMAT. If you’re taking the GRE, you need to be good at number sense and number manipulation. GMAT follows a focused approach towards problems.

16. Many schools in India such as ISB, IIMs, Great Lakes, etc. accepts GMAT for admission to MBA Program. However, IIMs accept GMAT for only One Year MBA Program, which is popularly known as PGPEx (Post Graduate Program for Executives). PGPEX requires minimum 4–5 years of work experience. There is no sense of comparing admission through GMAT and CAT, because both are for different courses. If you are fresher or having work experience of less than 4 years, then you will have to go for 2 year MBA Program, which require you to write CAT Exam. If you have more than 4 years of work experience, then you may go for One Year MBA Program, which require you to write GMAT. ISB require minimum 2 years of work experience. In terms of difficulty level of CAT and GMAT, I believe both are at same level. GMAT may have harder Verbal Section, while CAT may have harder Quantitative Section. 17. SOP is an honest statement, with no mixture of non truths, misleading words and contains only about your true facts. An SOP describing you as a great achiever at your age is never accepted by any professor, owing to their regular review of SOPs from students all over the world. It is regular for them to notice that you have done a great thing at your age, but it is not normal to see an SOP with facts and minimum worship about you. This is the key. 1. Make an attempt to prepare a pure and real portrait of you. 2. Prepare another one as it is needed (as your world needs). 3. Compare both and see how it aparts 180 degree. 4. Now you understand where you stand. Blend these two SOPs and make a new one. 5. The new SOP will contain true and honest facts about you and sugar coated achievements with humble words to an extent of 20% blend. 6. Ensure you freely express your thoughts and purpose. Assume it comes from your heart and the real goals you want to achieve in your life. 7. Give it a shot by refining second time. Make sure you do not exceed 400 words or one page of Legal paper size with 12 size font of Arial Normal. 8. Never decorate your SOP with the freebees of MS word, like underscoring, highlighting, capitalising etc.... 9. Keep it sweet looking than a magazine decor approach. 10. Last but not the least, circulate the SOP to your friends (min 10) and ask for their honest opinion. Revise if needed on the text, but not the overall notion of the content.
