  1. 10-28 means.. if you get 0 on TWE, your score on structure part should be 10..and if you get 6 on TWE, your score should be 28.. pretended that you get TWE 4.5 which is the minimum requirement for your school, you should get your overall scores on the structure part at about 23-24 which also meets the requirement..:) HTH..
  2. Hi, It is a good essay. Your essay is easy to follow and understandable. However, it contains a bit typo..:)
  3. hi there, I think you are off topic. They just want you to discuss whether you agree that students should work while studying or not. They do not want you to find any reasons whlie students have to work. Moreover, you should be a bit more careful with your grammar as well. Hope that helps :) Nam
  4. Since I am not in your field, I have no idea about what your chance at those universities..But one thing I know..even though you get rejected from the low ranked university, it is possible to get admit from the higher ranked ones. So, do not discourage..:) GOOD LUCK!!
  5. I should have underlined your choices. I think it should be.. 226. The failures of a scientist, while often at first thought disastrous, are often as important thanas her successes.
  6. Hi An Min, Thanks very much..an min. Yes, I am in the us. I am very willing to share my experience with other members at TM. So, if I found any questions that I can reply, I will. Have you done all tests? Have you applied for universities yet? Regards, Nam
  7. :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o Hi Ro and Erin.. I wanna give you a big THANK ummmm.............. I think it is not as BIG as I want, but it is from [/size]my heart[/size][heartbeat]. [bounce]THANKS VERY MUCH!!![bounce]
  8. Hi Nadia, As far as I know, grad schools take many things into consideration to decide whether they will give us admission or not. That means you may be able to get into a good school even though you have a bit low gpa. To compensate with that, you may need good TOEFL, GRE scores. In scientific fields, some publications of your undergrad or grad work will considerably help you. Moreover, I think work experience also matter. If you have work experience in the field you want to study, you may have the better chance. Finally, good LoR is a thing that you should concern. That's all I know. Hope it helps a bit. Nam
  9. Hi Erin, I also felt that there are more than one errors there but "sent" seems to be the most obvious one for me. I am really glad that you can remember me. My school already started, therefore, I have lesser time to visit TM. Anyway, I feel there are many things changed here. You really do good jobs. Thanks for doing that for us..Erin..:)
  10. 1200 on GRE is not safe for getting in good universities. Therefore, I think if you think you can do better in the second time, just try to do it.

    Actual TOEFL

I think powerprep are one of the best sources for TOEFL prep. I also used to use Crambridge prep and felt the same as you. My actual TOEFL scores are even higher than that from Cambridge preparation.
  12. in order to get 270 on TOEFL, you have to get at least 4.5 on TWE. Therefore, I think you are able to reach that score. Good luck.
  13. hi there, I heard that reading can help you get some ideas. Therefore, if you have time, try to read magazines or sth on the net. Moreover, watching TV would be able to help that too.
  14. Your score from the powerprep is not bad at all. Anyway, I think the easiest way to develop your TOEFL score in the short time is to review your gramma part. Try to get the full score on it. Moreover, the only way to cope with the TWE part is trying to write essays as many as you can. You can post your essays here and some members would help you correct and recommend on them. Good luck..
