10-28 means.. if you get 0 on TWE, your score on structure part should be 10..and if you get 6 on TWE, your score should be 28.. pretended that you get TWE 4.5 which is the minimum requirement for your school, you should get your overall scores on the structure part at about 23-24 which also meets the requirement..:) HTH..

Since I am not in your field, I have no idea about what your chance at those universities..But one thing I know..even though you get rejected from the low ranked university, it is possible to get admit from the higher ranked ones. So, do not discourage..:) GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Nadia, As far as I know, grad schools take many things into consideration to decide whether they will give us admission or not. That means you may be able to get into a good school even though you have a bit low gpa. To compensate with that, you may need good TOEFL, GRE scores. In scientific fields, some publications of your undergrad or grad work will considerably help you. Moreover, I think work experience also matter. If you have work experience in the field you want to study, you may have the better chance. Finally, good LoR is a thing that you should concern. That's all I know. Hope it helps a bit. Nam

1200 on GRE is not safe for getting in good universities. Therefore, I think if you think you can do better in the second time, just try to do it.

I think powerprep are one of the best sources for TOEFL prep. I also used to use Crambridge prep and felt the same as you. My actual TOEFL scores are even higher than that from Cambridge preparation.

in order to get 270 on TOEFL, you have to get at least 4.5 on TWE. Therefore, I think you are able to reach that score. Good luck.

Your score from the powerprep is not bad at all. Anyway, I think the easiest way to develop your TOEFL score in the short time is to review your gramma part. Try to get the full score on it. Moreover, the only way to cope with the TWE part is trying to write essays as many as you can. You can post your essays here and some members would help you correct and recommend on them. Normally, one mark on TWE part can increase approximately 10 marks on your total scores. Therefore, I guess you need 5.0 on TWE in order to get overall 260 scores on TOEFL.. Good Luck..

crossline..Here is my attempt to correct and comment on your essay... Nowaday, the abundance of child toys is the cause that parents concern so much. How to choose a suitable toy to their children's age, how to find a good toy including a good education inside it, and how to develop all skills of child from that gift, are always the hard questions. If I were the parents I would give my child the puzzle board gift. An introduction part is good. Firstly, A puzzle game helps children develop histheir brain. It's one of the most important functions of children even thoughsince he wasthey are a baby. In fact, child(well, if you need to use a singular form here, I think you should put an aritcle too.) often likes the colors(more than one color, right?)which isare decorated very nice in puzzle board. He likes it, and will learn to find it out. For example: When the child plays with it, he distinguishes that how many colors have the puzzle, and how to put away all pieces of the puzzle. This process helps child's mind improve so much, and helps the child become more actively. Secondaly, A puzzle game is also a non violent game. We have known that there are many kinds of toys that are not suitable tofor children. Here, A puzzle game is differentce. It has a highly educating meaning. With it, I definitely believe that child grows up following to a good trend, being far away from violence. As the statistic which I read before said that, the more children do not play violent games, the purer they have in their mind. In summary, With the two reasons I give above, a puzzle game is completely a good game for children. Even though some people do that, most people are not interested in meditaion at all. In my view, I think custom should be something most (if not all) people do. Even though I disagree that meditation is one of the Thai's customs, as I used to read in some topic here, essays do not need to represent only the fact. You can even write something that diviates from the fact. So, I think you can write that. You give some convincing reasons, so I think it is interesting ka. Let's try to write it!!

As far as I know,not only Thailand, but also many countries around south Asia use "wai" for greeting..However, I think good characters of Thai people are 1. friendliness (as a saying, Thailand,the land of smile.:) and 2. gratitute (esp. for parents and elder relatives) What do you think about this ka? Let's me know if you have other views...:D
