  1. Is Linear Algebra the only Math course you took during undergrad?
  2. Totally depends on how well your school have placed in previous years. Talk to your professors about it. Also, how well does your university rank overall ( not too familiar with SUNY rankings)?
  3. I am baffled my all these spamming..what's happening guys ?
  4. Sure shot at Top-10 (assuming good GRE scores)..No worries..won't be surprised if you get multiple offers
  5. there may be some logic in what you are saying..Universities might think I have gotten rusty.. but shouldn't my recent Phd courses' grades from a reputed institution kind of assuage the gap-effect?
  6. It will boil down to your letter writers and the reputation of your university of sending past students to top US programs.Math is sufficient, a little more could have been better imo.I believe you have a fair shot at Top-20, but apply come of safety schools, just in case.
  7. Sounds about right !! I think it will all boil down to how good are the LOR's , although I am pretty hopeful..a few Top 10-20 offers is what I am looking for.
  8. True, it is tough for an international student to break into top-2 Canadian.. I am a Canadian PR ( domestic) .. I might have a shot at top-2 Canadian ?
  9. Which schools in top-25 US do I realistically have a chance?...or should I have some safeties between top 30-50?
  10. @ Tutonic : right on point...and my phd macro professor is from Minnesota and is well regarded in Macroeconomics...and she knows me pretty well, we had long talks in her office regarding my research interests and existing research in the field
  11. Thanks a lot..really appreciate your confidence!!
  12. Thanks..Top 10 may be a stretch ( lack of solid research experience, strength of undergrad institution) but hopefully may be a shot at Top-25 US
