Type of UG: Bachelor in Economics [nationally reputed university, but it is in a third world county] GPA: 3.88/4.0 Math courses: Cal I/II [A,A], Linear Algebra [A], Stat I/II [A/A-], Mathematical Economics [A], Economics courses: Micro I/II [A/A} Macro I/II[A/A], Econometrics I/II [A-/A] other economic courses like Labor, Int trade, health, financial and so on. GRE: 167Q/157 V LOR: thesis supervisor [strong], econometrics & macro prof [strong], stat & cal prof [strong] Research Experience: UG thesis, RAed in a departmental research [did mostly legwork], after graduation have worked as field researcher [one was in World Bank's project] SOP: nothing special, background and future goal to end up in academia. First, I havent taken cal III or real analysis, these courses arent offered to undergrad economics at our uni. I have come to know that they are essential for top 30 Phd programs. Hence, I am thinking of getting MA first, preferably Canadians. Secondly, I am planning on to apply to UBC, U of Waterloo, Dalhousie, U of Winniepeg. There are other programs like U of T, Queens', McGill and Alberta that I am considering as well. I dont know if I am applying to right range of schools. So if anyone could help me deciding which ones to apply to if Im looking to going on to academia later on. Thank you!

  3. I would really appreciate it if could tell me about how is their program? They of course have great placements and is similar to what I want to do. However, Does anyone knows who are the leading figures in their economics department?
