I was waitlisted too, fingers crossed. Do you have some idea of how long this waitlist is? A decent amount of posts about info of the WL have been made on GC but it could've been just the same 10~ people on the WL

I also got wait-listed by NYU, the email said they gave "20 slots" out of 900 applications and the wait-list size is small. Tough year

Does anybody have some information on UCSD's micro theory program? Strongly considering the school and saw that they have a few interesting micro people (Joel Sobel and Joel Watson in particular) but it's also considered a strong metrics school as well.

Does anybody know how many people were wait-listed by Princeton / the chances of getting off the wait-list? On GC it seems to be around 6-8 people but then again not everybody reports

I was wondering what is the convention when it comes to deferring PhD program offers in economics? How often is it allowed and what is the process like? Thanks!

Hey all, I'm wondering what is the way to handle RA offers while waiting for PhD results? I've applied to some RA positions and expecting to hear back most likely before PhD results come in. My current mindset is that I would prefer to get into a top choice PhD program over doing a year or two of RA work but I would prefer to take the RA position over a "safety school". However, there's no way of me knowing what programs I get into before I have to (most likely) decide whether I take certain RA positions. Does anybody know what the standard convention is when it comes to handling these dilemmas? Thanks a ton!
