  1. quick q: anyone else received an email from Chicago about potential offers coming tomorrow? trying to see if they just sent it to everyone. anyone has any info?
  2. thanks for you reply! fingers crossed they give you funding 🙂
  3. funny given that their email said (at least for me) "The decision of the Graduate School, however, is final. We are not able to enter into further correspondence about the decision." Did they reach out by email?
  4. anyone on the NU waitlist has heard anything?
  5. thanks a lot for your reply. Emailed them too last Friday but no response lol
  6. has anyone still not heard from northwestern? I know that my application wasn't part of the early decision round (which seems to be for people with a second choice) but still feels a little long...
  7. yes, on your stipend. You'll be able to benefits from the standard nontaxed income (12500 per year approx.) but as a non resident, you might not be eligible for all deductions that Americans can claim. Some states do not have state taxes.
  8. are you American or international? and if you are international, resident or nonresident? does your country have a tax treaty with the US? all of this affects how much you'll pay in taxes. In general, stipends are subject to federal and if applicable, state taxes. Student income is exempt from FICA if enrolled at least part time and working only part time.
  9. Has anyone applied to Oxford (phd or integrated PhD)?
  10. so weird that Columbia Econ is doing interviews this year
  11. are Princeton and Columbia IRs now?
  12. thanks for your reply. May I ask how you found out?
  13. Thanks for your reply. No update on my end from HKS. This is much tougher mentally than I expected.
  14. should we assume IR from HKS (public policy econ)? I've seen 2 admits on GC earlier this week
