  1. Congrats! Great place! I think am going to Syracuse, despite I am still waiting some WLs....will be freezing times but seems to be a good environment there and, as I want to focus on public, it is also a good fit for me...if you all guys have thoughts you are all welcome....GL to all
  2. I cant see either since last week. I mentioned this here but I think that some people still have access to the comments and others are in the same situation of us with no access and no idea why
  3. Thanks! Right after the visiting day they sent me a rejection. Hope you enjoy this great school!
  4. Me too since yesterday, but seems that some are accessing anyway bc it appears that has some comments...not sure if thise people are accessing it by another browser or something...
  5. Just taking the opportunity of this info: If I receive an offer in April 15th onwards, do you know how we should proceed? If we said yes to our remaining offer up to Apr 15th but received a better offer after that, will we lose the opportunity? I think so, but just checking if anyone knows how this works. Re MSU I got the same msg others are mentioning, they just added another paragraph mentioning that they must send offers carefully as they send fully funded offers only so I have to see this as a good news, but understand why they take so much time to unfold the process...i think all receive this as well, right?
  6. Hey there! I suggest you to send an email to uc davis (dont remember the greek name professor, but you could find out easly in their website). I sent one and they promptly reverted me with a very polite rejection (like "we send a bunch of offers and we are expecting to cover our spots, so sorry to inform you that we are not very optimistic with your application").
  7. Good luck! Pls, i will appreciate if you could share afterwards some info. I saw at GC that they had a visiting day with 50 candidates but made offer to only 30...if they are doing a second round maybe their yield are below expectations
  8. Have no idea why so such a weird process throughout some schools....as I mentioned, MSU, USC and UCSC put me on their waitlists and I don't know why they don't reject me asap if they have no clue about my chances....
  9. Hey! Sent an email last Fri and they reverted on Mon. Weird because they mentioned some people were rejected but I havent seen any rejection at gc
  10. Hey folks, please could you give me a color about this: I got waitlisted by Michigan State, UC Santa Cruz and USC. But all of them were given by a msg replying my inquire about status. I am not convincing if indeed I have a chance. I saw rejections of MSU, but didnt see any rejection of UC Santa Cruz and USC (although they mentioned that first round of rejections and acceptances were sent). Do you know anyone that got a rejection from UCSC or USC? I am really happy so far with my offer and I have already declined a dominated one to allow others to have a chance, but I need to know if I have any chances on these remaining options. Thanks a lot!
  11. Pls, anyone knows about UC Irvine and UC Riverside process? I saw at GC they sent some offers, but no idea if they also sent msgs to the waitlisted ones. Radio silence at UC Davis so far, right?
  12. I saw it at GC, not sure you are the same who posted there. I havent got an interview and got rejected everywhere (lower rkgd schools) so hard to be optimistic here. But does anyone here know how Columbia assesses the second option (the masters program)? It there any chance to get admitted in the masters after rejected by the phd adcom? I have already a MA in a top latam school, not sure if this is an issue. Starting to look up for backups unfortunately
  13. Pls is there anyone aware about waitlist at Michigan State....for me total radio silence
  14. Congrats to all that already got an offer...after I got rejected by UIUC and Rice and implicitly rejected by usc, ucsc, pitt, georgetown and even riverside and georgia, I gave up...GL to all
  15. Congrats anyway and hope you get what you wish....i am still rejected or implictly rejected everywhere...
  16. Guys, I have applied to UCSC, USC, Davis, Rice and all of them have already interviewed or communicated with shor listed candidates. Do you know why they don't send the formal rejections at this point? For me, sounds like a lack of consideration for those who have no chances anymore, have paid and invested sometime to apply for these schools....I am somehow upset with this not professional approach some schools conduct their process...
  17. Congrats....one more IR for me...too bad. Enjoy UCI, there should be a great place to pursue phd
  18. Re UC Irvine, there is anyone else who got an offer? Just one single post at GC and not sure if UCI sends all offers at once
  19. Great, congrats. But are they usind the applyweb to do that? Just because they told me all communications would be by email. Enjoy your phd there!!!
  20. Please, can anyone confirm GC's posts re Caltech Social Science program? I've applied for this one due its economics track, but looks like I've failed as I haven't receive an email....another IR......
  21. Guys! So far I am considering an IR from USC and UCSC as they have called candidates for interviews! It is what it is, but I really appreciate if someone could give me some color about two concerns I have: 1 - Do you know if there is any chance to not be invited for interview, but still have a chance to be admitted? My question is just because if some interviews are mostly focused on field of interest and career goals and the candidate strongly addressed those points in her SoP, do they really need to do an interview? 2 - GPA: in my LatAm country is not really common even for top students in top universities to achieve much more than 3.2 during UG in Engineering, even though there is a lot of people I know that joined top US universities. Even during my masters in economics, the best students struggled a lot to have something around 3.2-3.4. The people I know said that there is a huge challenge for Adcom to understand GPA differences around the globe, so they don't think they were accepted due their low gpa around low 3 (two real cases - Stanford and Berkeley - which I haven't applied). Do you think that Adcom really can dissociate gpa's or my friends were lucky and their LoR's have played the major role in the process? Thanks a lot for anyone can help me and wish you all a lot of acceptance letters!!! 🙂
