  1. If you space it out and help them cut through the uncertainty by providing some likelihood of you attending should an offer be made, I think, it keeps you on the radar and maybe helps. It's definitely a fine line to tread.
  2. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I emailed them since I had not heard anything and got a rejection. Official updates to be out in the next week or two, they say.
  3. This is what I gather based on @Major Tom's post earlier.
  4. Pretty sure that's what my reading is at this time. They have definitely sent acceptances and waitlists.
  5. Thanks for this! There goes another one
  6. Any intel on how UBC is going about their decisions? I see some acceptances trickling and trying to get a sense of implicit rejections.
  7. Same here. Not to put anyone's hopes up but I think they might be doing this in waves? Have seen all decisions on GC so maybe not all decisions are out yet.
  8. In your case one way to think about this could be to ask yourself what besides growth interests you? Brown has a bunch of people in labor and education so if that is an interest you could fit this theme in a long-run growth perspective and work closely with the juniors who are likely to give more time and attention. At the same time you still have the blessings of Weil/Galor/Michalopoulos etc. So yeah, I would look at the mix in school and decide.
  9. From GC it seems like UCSD screwed up something at their application portal backend and revealed decisions in the most anti-climactic, bizarre fashion. Would be tragi-comic if this speculation turns out to be true
  10. Think that must have been me. Same outcome as yours and I'd be lying if I don't feel played. Was expecting the rejection a month earlier and this raised my hopes up a tiny bit, only to be dashed eventually.
  11. Mostly no news is not good news but with LSE and BU I am confused. BU is going to release decisions this week so maybe you're on to something. You can email and ask about your application status too..
  12. Exactly what @merkimer mentioned. Interview invites went out in Jan I think and I dunno why they won't just make it explicit. HKS did that
  13. Anyone here who applied to Harvard BusEcon and has not heard back? I am certain it's a rejection but find it strange that has not been communicated to me. It's been a while and any idea what could be going on?
  14. Was interviewed for the other track so rest assured they are admitting students in other concentrations too. FWIW, I haven't heard back since the interview so who knows what's going on.
  15. Was just thinking about this earlier today. Wondering if reaching out next week is an alright next step.
  16. Quite certain that's the takeaway based on last cycle's gradcafe posts. Happy to be proven wrong but won't hold out hope. In the same boat; tough luck!
  17. Ignore if this is not what you were looking for/is unrelated information. Here's a few things (non exhaustive) to expect and prepare for your interview. This is based on a couple I had at other places: Summary of your research experience (thesis, part-time RA, full-time pre-doc etc) You research interests (even better if you can weave in some faculty at the place while talking about this) Interviewers may also hone in on one research experience and ask you to elaborate. I was asked about my thesis so be prepared to summarize that too. Why Econ (or relevant field) and why X university?: there's fit, multidisciplinary stuff etc to fold in here. Any questions you may have: I was told to stave off admin questions but literally anything you think that might provide more info (eg. opportunities to take classes in other depts, advising styles etc) I think preparing something for these broad thematic questions is more than enough. My tip is to be organized and let your passion/eagerness for studying this subject show. Good luck!
  18. Think you're right—only rejections on GC so far. Thought I saw one acceptance but was likely mistaken. In that case, it seems like we just wait everyday and keep checking the portal.
  19. Anyone have a good handle on the LSE decisions? Seems like there are no emails sent and people end up learning by checking the portal. It's a mix of acceptances and rejections so wanted to know if there's some order (application submission date, or last name(?)) to this.
  20. Same here. Status on the portal reads "Under Revision" so maybe it's in waves?
  21. Same here and I am inclined to believe there are multiple rounds but who knows, stranger stuff has happened.
