  1. They said in one of the visiting day events that if you don’t get an email over the weekend stating that: a) you got an offer, or b) you are being considered in the “next-in-line” batch of the waiting list, then you are probably not getting in. However, you should still send an email if you don’t receive anything by the end or the weekend.
  2. General question, what are your thoughts on asking for updates on the WL or your status? Do you think it’s helpful or just nagging?
  3. No clue, I was invited to attend virtually. There seemed to be around 50-ish attendees between the in-persons and the virtuals.
  4. Not me, did they ask you?
  5. Has anyone heard back from Yale with respect to their visit day (in particular if you're on the waitlist)?
  6. I was, they shared the schedule for April 4-8 within the email where they notified me that I’m on the waitlist.
  7. Thanks! Could you please share the contact of whoever’s organizing it? I was admitted yesterday and haven’t been able to get information on the visit day.
  8. Does anyone know anything about Duke’s visit day?
  9. I'm waitlisted at NU too, and after inquiring about the Visit Day they told me that they would make the recordings available to waitlisted candidates by April 6th. So at least we know that the Visit Day is before that. They also sent me a link with last year's materials (I'll send you the link by DM).
  10. I just received an e-mail from Duke Graduate School about their "professional development workshop" or something of that sort, in preparation for my application to Duke. I also haven't heard back from them on my current application to their PhD program. Is this some sort of sophisticated trolling? I'm confused.
  11. I just checked Columbia's portal and found my rejection letter there (no email yet). You might want to check!
  12. Waitlist at best, according to a friend in the program.
  13. Not at all, it's Yale. Is anyone on the same boat?
  14. Received a similar e-mail from a top ten, stating that they are constrained by class size and that they make too little offers initially. They also said that it’s “quite likely” that I get an offer. Maybe they’re being careful with their yield? Would be my best offer so far, so I really hope it means that we’ll probably get in.
  15. From poster in gradcafe, apparently we’ll know in a couple of weeks.
  16. For those waiting on Northwestern, I've been told that no more acceptances are due, so either waitlist or rejection.
  17. Same old with this application process haha, stay strong!
  18. Someone was asking about LSE, you might want to check the portal. Just got my rejection today.
  19. A friend who's in the program told me weeks ago that the accepted and waitlisted applicants had already been notified and that they were planning to invite waitlisted applicants to the Visit Day. So, I would assume it's an IR by this point. However, stranger things have happened, so I really hope you it might mean good news for you!
  20. Any thoughts on NYU, Columbia, Northwestern? IR at this point, or some sort of waitlist/late acceptances?
  21. Wharton is out, or at least rejections are. Fuck me haha.
  22. I'm not sure but I wouldn't think so. I've heard of "exploding offers" where there's some sort of time limit to decide, but I think generally most schools stick to the April 15th deadline. Have they told you that you have to decide anytime soon?
  23. On that note, do you know what is the typical waitlist length from schools in different ranking brackets?
  24. I guess you're right. Damn, this cycle has been tough.
  25. Yeah, figured that would happen given the posts on gradcafe about the phone calls. What are your thoughts on Northwestern, Columbia, Berkeley and now NYU given the informal offers people have posted in the past weeks? Do you assume not having these informal interactions as rejections/waitlists?
