  1. Anyone else hear anything from MSU? I emailed and they responded saying I’m waitlisted and that I’m “MUCH” closer to the first-round offer group. Another person on gradcafe got an identical email so I’m just trying to gauge how meaningful that response really is.
  2. Yup. UCSB rejected me as well. My last hope is University of Washington. I got a pre-offer email on February 17th, but nothing since so keeping my fingers crossed
  3. Regarding UCSB, Mark replied to my email saying that admission decisions will be released “at the beginning of next week.” Apparently they had a “record number” of applications so it’s taking longer. On another note, has anyone heard from the University of Washington? They sent me a pre-offer email two weeks ago, but silence since then.
  4. Damn, that's awful; I feel for you
  5. Do programs that give these "pre-offers" end up not giving first-round offers to students who reply saying they are still interested in the program? The program that sent me this type of email said they expect a first-round decision within a week, but gave no indication that I would be one to receive one of these first-round offers. It seems ridiculous that a school would send an email like this and then not give students who replied with interest a first-round offer, but what do I know. Just wondering if I should temper my expectations. Any input would be appreciated!
  6. I got asked by a university if I am still interested and they expressed a lot of interest in me. What does this "pre-offer" email typically mean? Can I expect a funded offer to be coming?
