  1. Got an email saying the following: We’re sorry to say that the NYU admission process is over for this year. We had over 700 candidates and you made it a far way in our admission process. We would have been happy to admit each of you but at the end we had to end it before we could make you an offer. If you didn't get this mabe they're keeping you on a reduced WL, but otherwise looks like the class is full.
  2. Email from adcoms asking if I was interested in an offer! Really glad this came through, and best of luck to anyone else still on WLs
  3. Full disclosure: I'm WL'd at Minn and Duke, and am also interested in Macro. If I were in your schoes, Minnesota > Duke >UCLA. Duke is weak in macro, unless you can get advisors at Fuqua, which I've heard isn't easy to do. Minnesota is not the powerhouse it used to be, but is still top 10 for macro. If you have a location preference UCLA is obviously superior and Cal stipends are supposed to go up substantially soon, and the university as a whole has had a dramatic rise over the past 5 years. Edit: Just saw you have to pay tuition at UCLA. Try negotiating with them using UMinn offer as leverage, but if they don't meet it scratch them off your list.
  4. Any word from Northwestern? List looks long, but I think only some students got the form to send their interests.
  5. Look at gradcafe-NU and NYU seem to be the longest waitlist, and looking at last years results, admit maybe 3-4 candidates from the WL
  6. Duke dropping. Caught yet another WL
  7. Did yours not have a questionnaire? Mine did, but the email was generic and I assumed everyone's did. Can anyone else confirm?
  8. Adding evidence to the WL length. Quite frustrating landing on all these waitlists, but hopefully one will come through.
  9. Congratulations, and thanks for helping the market clear. Did they say anything about the funding package? I've heard bad things from the department. Specifically, do you know if the first year is funded?
  10. Just got R'd at Columbia, but Brown emailed me that they're keeping me on the waitlist, so that's something. Still waiting on NW, Penn, and Duke.
  11. Sitting on 2 WL, no word from Columbia or NW. Should I take those as IR? Also, is there any general wisdom on how fast/how many are taken off the waitlist? I know it varies, but I'd assume there's less movement at the top and more at the bottom, as yield falls with ranking.
