  1. MSU has a few rounds of acceptances, this is just the first.
  2. Many US programs have to abide to the April 15th agreement, so they can’t require students to commit before then. I imagine most (if not all) programs that haven’t yet filled their desired program size will be working tomorrow to give waitlist reponses once they are able to remove accepted students from the list based on nonresponse
  3. To confirm, University of Michigan, not Michigan State, correct?
  4. Someone reached out to them last week (see quoted post), sorry
  5. I can't comment on Rochester, but I did my MS in Economics at TAMU. Of the professors with a macro listing on the department webpage (Pedro Bento, Dennis Jansen, Yoon Jo, Tatevik Sekhposyan, and Yuzhe Zhang), I took classes with Profs. Bento, Jansen, and Sekhposyan. All three were very approachable, taught well, and really seemed to take an interest in their students, with one of them writing recommendation letters for both my current research position and current PhD applications. College Station is very affordable to live in (2 bedroom within walking distance of a bus to campus was $800 per month). Tons of things to do for the 20-30 age bracket, given the size of the school.
  6. Doesn't seem like the chances are too bad, based on the past 2 years of GC posts. 2021: 11 acceptances, 12 waitlists by mid-March. 7 posts in April near the deadline indicating acceptance off the waitlist 2022: 10 acceptances, 3 waitlists by mid-March. 2 posts in April near the deadline indicating acceptance off the waitlist 2023 (so far): 13 acceptances, 4 waitlists to-date
  7. I’ve seen a lot of discussion about waitlists for your first three, but there are only 6 acceptances and 0 waitlists on GC for Cornell from this year, so it’s possible that the Cornell waitlist is relatively short.
  8. I imagine it is going to vary quite a bit across programs. Based off of GC posts, it looks like some programs have huge waitlists, while others have a much smaller waitlist. Which programs in particular are you waitlisted? (If that’s something you’re open to discussing)
  9. This was their timeline last year (according to GC) 25 Feb: Acceptances 7 March: Rejections 10 March: Waitlist and acceptances 17 March: Rejections 21 March: Waitlist and rejections After that, it was some additional acceptances from WL trickling in until the deadline
  10. I'm still waiting on a response as well. I posted something about their timeline last year (quoted here), so it isn't necessarily a bad sign
  11. I appreciate all of the positivity this forum has had. In a sense, we're competing against each other for some of these spots, but everything has been support and encouragement. Thanks all!
  12. Props to you on the progress you've made! I'm just hoping I don't need to do another 1-2 years of RA/Pre-Doc if I don't get accepted anywhere. If that's the case, I'll be nearly 40 by the time I finish a PhD program after that. (I needed to work a few years post undergrad to get qualified for tuition reimbursement for a masters program, then took a year of non-degree classes to prep for Masters, 1.5 year MS program, now finishing up my 3rd year as an RA at Princeton. It's been quite the circuitous route lol)
  13. Same here, hoping something comes through 😕
  14. Quoted the wrong post, sorry. I had thought that this was referencing the UW-Madison interviews, not Northwestern. I've edited my initial post so no one else is misled
  15. * Quote removed, this is referencing UW-Madison's decision timeline From last year's GC posts, it looks like there was an initial round of offers on 7 February (no rejections), then another round of offers on 16 February (no rejections), followed by a round of offers and interview requests on 22/23 February, then a round of offers, waitlists, and rejections (post interview) on 8-11 March, then more offers and waitlists in the last week of March, with the final offers and rejections coming between 7-14 April. What a mess
