  1. Erin, Thanks for starting this thread. I benefitted a lot from this forum during my GMAT preparations. I cannot believe its already been 5 months since I joined Univ of Chicago GSB for a concentration in Finance & Entrepreneurship. It is a great place for learning and for fun. Right now though is the most nerve-wracking period of summer internship interviewing. Overall, I'm glad I made the decision to join an MBA program and wish the class of 2009 aspirants the very best of luck in their applications. Folks, feel free to email me at grey_cellz AT yahoo.com and I'll try my best to answer any questions about applications in general and applying to Chicago GSB in particular. Cheers, Grey
  2. Hey Twinn - I'm leaning towards Finance at Chicago GSB..
  3. Thanks. Take a look at my debriefing earlier in this thread. Hey arjmen, how ru dude? Thanks a lot!! Thanks bud!! Thanks chill!!
  4. Thanks guys! Let me know if need some advice with the application process. No GMAT questions please :), I already have no clue what you guys are discussing in the Verbal/Math forums.
  5. Hi Twinn, Just saw your thread and realized the fact that you've been accepted to Stanford!! Awesome news buddy - somehow I'm not surprised (wonder why?) Good luck and cheers!! -Grey
  6. Folks, I've great news to share. I'm in at Chicago!! Good luck to all applying/taking GMATs Thanks Grey
  7. All I can say about your performance is "WoW". Surely one of the most inspiring stories for people who believe in themselves and dream of taming GMAT. Good luck! -Grey
  8. I think the adcom members who go to these fairs may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer :). I think one should visit campuses rather than go to fairs - the campus, the classes give you the true story about a given school.
  9. Believe me, you'll spend at least twice more time writing your essays than you ever spent studying for GMAT. That's how its going :(
  10. Awesome score (49/49)! I had begun to believe that you were one of the testmagic folks! Good luck for the apps!
  11. Awesome performance and well deserved! Good luck for your apps -Grey It is easy actually. Say for Egypt, the # of choices for the first person = 4 and the number for second = 3, rest of the two go to Vietnam anyway. So total ways = 4*3 However, these include a combo where A is selected first and B second OR B first and A second. Since order doesn't matter, these two should be counted as one. Hence divide the #ways by 2. Result = 4*3/2 = 6
  12. I've checked it out and looks good to me - so lets use the testmagic chat. That'd be easier to manage. Will post the script up in this thread
  13. http://www.testmagic.com/chat Your browser needs to be java enabled for that - which is generally the case with most of the latest versions of the browsers.. -Grey
  14. Ok guys, lets have a few more people reply and then we'll finalize a time and keep everyone happy!
  15. Hi All, If you remember, sometime back we had a very successful GMAT strategies chat. In a similar vein, lets have an Admissions chat, right when everyone is gearing up for applying to B-schools. Lets share our thoughts, approaches, strategies, reference materials and other stuff. Lets see what's a convenient time for everyone. How does Monday Aug.1, 11pm EST sound ? Other time suggestions are most welcome. Thanks Grey
  16. There you go, the man hath spoken, issue closed. The ans should be B. Twinn, we'd entrusted Lego for the admissions chat, let's schedule something, and invite all those interested. It's a good time to do that since ppl would be almost sure of the schools and ready to write their essays..
  17. I think I'll still stick with D on this one ! Twinn, the verbal champ, let's hear from you on this..:p -Grey
  18. Thanks! That'd be the individual posts. There are no consolidated docs I'm aware of.
  19. That's a toughie! I'm still in the process of finalizing the schools.
  20. Hi, I think you need to find out what your exact weaknesses are. In general, for anyone it is very difficult to gauge the level/weaknesses of someone else. You are the best person to gauge that. Go thru your practice tests and try to understand where your problems lie. There's no sure shot formula for RCs - they are one of the toughest to improve upon. You need to be able to watch for the overall picture an RC wants to convey, you need to look at the tone and changes in it, you need to focus more on ideas than on facts and you need to keep a mental note of where the facts are so that you can quickly come back to the passage to answer all the fact related questions..
