  1. My answer is between A and E. I incline over A, eventhough which make it awkward. E is using the phrase 'was over 2500 miles long'. I questioning the was here, becuase it still over 2500 miles long at present. Please clarify and explain. Thanks Subra

Between A and C, C is changing the verb instilling to an infintive ' to instill'. So I eliminated C and hence my answer is A. So I will go with an answer that has past participle phrase. Hence eliminated B, C and D. Between A and E, I felt A is awkward and hence my answer is E.
  14. I am confused with the subject number here. I am going with the assumption that the Subject Paper is a singluar and should be followed with a singular verb. So, C and D is out. Also in B - component in is unidimatic. Between A and E, Since the municipal trash are trying to to recyle, could be reduced sounds better and hence my answer is 'E'. someone please explain in detail. Thanks Subra

  18. Hi Arjmen My approach is indeed incorrect. I don't know in what state of mind I was in. My answer is 18. 10(x/x+y) + 20(y/x+y) = k ==>10x/(x+y) +20y(x+y) = k ==>10x+20y = k(x+y) ==> 10x+ 10y+10y = k(x+y) ==> k = (10x+10y+10y)/(x+y) ==> k = 10 + 10y/(x+y) -- eqn 1. Now, assuming x and y are +ve integers, x/y is Therefore from eqn 1 k is betwen 15 and 20. Hence my answer is 18. Thanks Subra
