  7. Hello everyone, I have finally come out with my list of admits and would like to know which would be the best pick among them : 1. Syracuse University ( 40% waiver ) 2. University of Texas at Dallas (no aid) 3. Lehigh University (no aid) Major : CE - Embedded Systems Please do consider various factors like aid chances, jobs, location, etc into account. Please let me know the reasons for opting that univ among the lot. Thanks in advance Waiting for the replies, Bye!

  16. 20. It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay. Before I passed the College Entrance Examination and went to a famous College in Shanghai, the largest city of China, I had been living in a small village for eighteen years. As a person who has experienced living both in the countryside and in a big city, I bolster the point of view that it is better for children to grow up in a big city. [Good Start] To begin with, a big city has a better education system than countryside. Schools, colleges are so sufficient[sufficient enough] that all levels of children can attend what is most fitful for them[suitable for them]. More often than not, children in the countryside have no such fortune any more. It is always the schools that determine what[omit] who are to be enrolled in, rather than the children that[who] decide which school they will attend. Furthermore, College[college] and Universities often reserve some admission opportunities only for those residents. The children living in the countryside miss the chance[need not be.... have less chances of going for] to achieve[omit] higher education by nature. Moreover, the education quality in schools of big cities is more comprehensive and well-rounded than that in the countryside. Thus the children in big cities are more likely to acquire better education, which might contribute to their future lives. [Good] In addition, the services from all aspects of lives in big cities bring tremendous convenience to the child residents. With the development of all kinds of public transportation, such as buses, subways, children can easily go where they want to go. When they are feeling sick, they can easily get treated in hospitals; when they are in trouble on their way home, what they need to do is just calling the policemen for help.[Reframe it in a more formal way] Hardly do the children in the countryside can imagine taking Annual checkup or fitness exercise, either of which is popular in a big city. Last but not least, the various kinds of entertainment in big cities will obviously help those child residents have a happier childhood than those in the countryside. After a hard day’s study, children in a big city can get relax easily and immediately.[cant countryside children relax too?? ] For instance, they can go to a cinema, sit in the soft seats and enjoy the interesting and fascinating scenes in the screen.[is this the only way of relaxing? The serene atmosphere can be thoroughly enjoyed by countryside students.. what say? ] While in many countries of China, there is still no steady provision of electricity, not to mention cinemas, TV, etc. Admittedly, I do not doubt[there is no doubt] that there are some advantages for children living in the countryside. For example, there are[is] fresh air, clean water and friendlily neighborhood. Nevertheless, comparing with living[when compared with ] a big city, living in the countryside has far more advantages. Three main merits involve better education, services and entertainment, which I have discussed above in turn. I would give it a 5.5 Good luck :)
