I am pretty sure that the 47 q score is independent of the verbal section. It just starts fresh again. Strictly speaking, it would not be logical to assume that a person with high quant skills...

yeah, since some of the top schools have averages of 712-720, getting a higher score would help.

Hard to say. As per other posters, it depends on the level of difficulty questions you get right. Also in the order. If you get the first 54% of questions wrong and the latter 46% right your score...
