    Re: Sum of integers

    I'd be super careful with this one, and do it like this:

    102, 105, ..., 198 (sum of digits must be a multiple of 3).

    -99 from each

    3, 6, 9, ..., 99

    divide by 3
  2. Re: Reciprocal of Prime Numbers and Fraction - Difficult!!!

    1/p + 1/q = (p+q)/(pq)

    Now p and q are two different primes, and so neither p nor q divides (p+q),
    and hence (p+q)/(pq) is already in reduced form. So denominator has to
    be a product of two...

    Re: Number properties

    105=3*5*7
    3 divides x
    7 divides y

    Need 5 to divide x or y.

    So answer is B.

    Re: Decimals!

    D=0.89C
    U=1.07T

    (D+U)/(C+T) = 1.01
    0.89C+1.07T = 1.01C + 1.01T
    0.06T = 0.12C
    C/T = 1/2

    Re: Geometry problem

    a^2 + b^2 = 40000
    2a+2b=560

    So

    a+b=280
    a^+2ab+b^2=280^2 = 40000+400*80+6400=78400

    So

    Kaplan Quantitative Practice

    Does anyone have any opinions regarding the practice test in Kaplan's
    latest book? I took the quantitative practice test, scored 35/37 (two
    sloppy errors :( ) for a scaled score of 51-52. Is that...

    Re: Hi, I need GMAT study materials ASP

    Thanks for the tips! I'd like to get a 750+ on the GMAT, but I realize
    that even for good test takers the range 720-800 can be iffy (you're
    liable to wind up anywhere within that range).

    That 3x+7y is divisible by 11 is written shorthand as
    3x+7y =0 (11). If that is the case, multiplying
    3x+7y by any integer will also be 0 (11), as will adding or subtracting
    any multiple of 11x...

    A good way to deal with problems like this is to prove upper and lower
    bounds by induction.

    We have that f(n)=1 for n<=1. I claim that n<=f(n)<=3n; this is
    true for n<=1.

    Assume true for...
