Warwick vs Stockholm School of Economics

I have funded offers from both these places, and I need to pick one.

Interests: (behavioral)game theory, not likely to change to anything outside micro theory.

    Any opinions regarding these...
  3. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

I am reviving this thread to ask for advice on choosing between Warwick and SSE (both funded), for micro/game theory. I have received contradictory viewpoints from my peers and faculty advisers, and...

    Re: 2019 Admission Sweat Thread

I have an interview scheduled with the MRes program at Warwick. Anyone here who has already interviewed for that program? I'd be grateful for some insights and tips.

    Re: 2019 Admission Sweat Thread

I still don't have a response from some schools in the US, and admission decisions from these schools have already been posted on grad cafe. I haven't received any emails and I don't know what to...

    Re: 2019 Admission Sweat Thread

Has anyone been accepted to Tilburg here? Research Master's program. There is an acceptance on GC.
  8. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

I had similar information from elsewhere. The cost of the program is too high. Right now I can't even consider taking a chance on this, regardless of how good the program at UPF is.
  9. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

I didn't consider the US vs Europe question in this light. Thank you so much for your contribution to this thread. Not only is this very helpful for me, I think it will help future applicants as...

    Re: Tilburg University GRE requirements

I was unable to retake the GRE before the application deadline. Future candidates should know that it is best if they can provide the required scores; however, if for some reason you are unable to do...

    Re: Tilburg University GRE requirements

Thank you! I am fervently hoping I get in.
  12. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

When I'd applied to these schools, I had a preference for SSE over Penn State. But I am reassessing my opinion now. I will probably have an easier time adjusting at Penn State. I think I'll try to...
  13. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

It is true that I applied to LSE EME as a backup in case I didn't get into a decent Ph.D. program. But all the others (BGSE, Paris) are entry points to their Ph.D. programs. I am not sure if PSE...
  14. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

This is true, their placement record is good. But the few inputs I have received about the job market in Europe is making me nervous.
  15. Re: Choosing between programs (UAB/BGSE/PennState/SSE)

Generally, what would be the pros/cons of pursuing a Ph.D. in the US versus Europe? A few people are of the opinion that the US job market is well organized and superior to that of Europe, and a...
