Hi. It's my first post here :) I have applied to 6 Phd programs in business administration/Management in Canada, as follows: 1- Rotman - University of Toronto (Organization behaviour) 2- Sauder - University of British Columbia (Organization behaviour) 3- Schulich - York University (Organisational studies) 4- Ivey - University of Western Ontario (Entrepreneurship) 5- Haskayne - University of Calgary (Entrepreneurship) 6- Beedie - Simon Fraser University (Entrepreneurship/Organisational studies) I'v had an interview with POI in both Calgary & Simon Fraser, but that was it. Never heard back from these 2, neither was I shortlisted to interviews by the first 4 I'm wondering if anyone applied to these and heard back, I'm new to this website and I've used the search function, but searching for 'Beedie', for example, resulted in posts that goes back to 2013! so I wonder if there is anything I'm doing wrong. I also wonder when approximately do these universities send decision (Either acceptance or rejection). Also, out of curiosity, which of those has the highest acceptance rate for international students with degrees from outside Canada/US? Much appreciation!

I just got my first admit for a PhD program starting 2021, but the acceptance email contained no info on funding. The school says on their website that they guarantee funding to all accepted students for 5 years, but no details. This is my first cycle and my first acceptance, so I'm not sure if this is normal/what I should do? Should I reach out to ask about funding details or is that weird? They did say they'd reach out within the next couple of weeks to have me complete a statement of intent to register, but no mention of funding on that. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

I've been looking at stuff from poetsandquants and the like, and it seems like the opposite is true In Terms of Admissions Prospects, There's Never Been A Better Time To Top-50 Apply To MBA Programs This article above discusses a 10% increase in M acceptance rates for top-50 programs over the course of the past 5 years. Thoughts? Do you agree it's much easier to get in now than, 2015 maybe?

Hi, I'm creating this thread to exchange information about UC3M and CEMFI. Did anyone receive any news about them? Acceptance, wait list or rejection. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I was accepted to a PhD program in Accounting, and even though I am allowed to wait till April 15 to accept, they let me know that fellowships are available on the "first come, first serve" basis. I still want to wait for some other schools but the fear of not receiving the fellowship (tuition waiver) kinda scare me. Advice from anyone who has been through something like this is greatly appreciated. (is the "first come, first serve" thing just for luring the applicant?) Thank you

What if we were able to collect accurate profiles from most of our cohort in the school we end up going to, and maybe the profiles from the following 2 or 3 cohorts, and used all the data to come up with a probability model that can roughly state the probability of acceptance to a given school. For example: Let's say I go to Penn State. If I can get a good number of profiles, I could estimate a model like, Probability of Acceptance at PSU = B0 + B1*(Rank of Undergrad school) + B2*(# of semesters of Real Analysis) + B3*(# of grad level econ courses taken) + B4*(GPA in econ) + ....... + Bn*(other factors) Then, we could do tons of hypothesis testing and come up with confidence intervals. I can't say if the model would be accurate or not, but I'm sure I would have a lot of fun doing this. Then, we could coordinate with some members going to schools in different tiers to come up with their models and post them to the forum. I think that would make profile evaluations much more fun for everyone. What do you guys think? (I already know this is stupid, so be creative and try saying some other things)
