I think the placement for these two are comparable. The faculty at Booth is stronger, but it seems that the program size at Wharton is smaller and the culture at Wharton is more "caring". Which program would be a better choice? Any comments are much appreciated!

It seems that the placement for LBS is good and stable, but the faculty at Booth is generally much stronger. How to choose between these two programs? Any comments will be much appreciated!

Hi all, I just received an offer from UChig Booth (Econ track) a few days ago. Interests are in applied + theoretical IO + antitrust econ. I have several questions, if someone could shed light on them that would be amazing: 1. Do UChig Booth (Econ track) students take the same quals as that of normal Econ students (I am guessing, yes)? How brutal is this process? Chicago seems to be infamous for a high % fail rate. 2. How is the placement like for this program -- is it worth going over say, Michigan? It seems that most Econ-oriented Booth students are finance PhDs, not Econ PhDs. Thank you so much!

Don't have a very outstanding profile. Many rejections from this admission cycle. Only got a Michigan offer right now. But I'm considering going to a Booth RA program (applied micro related, I'm interested in doing micro) and reapply two years later. Any suggestions on that?

These programs seem pretty orthogonal so I'm not sure if this dilemma comes up often. I'm interested in public finance and tax policy and wondering if people had thoughts on which program would be a better fit. Note that I'd rather end up at a straight econ department rather than a business school.
