Hi all, I'm currently going through the interviewing process and will be starting my OB PhD program in Fall of 2021 (haven't committed anywhere yet). I am married and my wife just gave birth to our first little girl. It is a very exciting and special time, but also, in the back of my head I'm wondering how we are going to make it all work. Questions such as if we can afford buying a small house or condo, if my wife can continue working with our child, if there is child care at the universities, if we may have to go into debt, etc., come up in my head and bring a bit of stress. I'm wondering if anyone has advice on how to best handle a PhD program with a family, things to watch out for, things to consider, etc.? Thanks!

Question: It is better for children to choose jobs that are similar to their parents job than to choose jobs that are very different from their parents jobs. Each person need to have job to continues his life either physical or psychological. Thus, every one must make decision for choosing job in some part of his life. Some people think that children should have same job as their parent While others people think conversely. The both groups have their reasons. It is wise that children select jobs that are different from parents job in the most cases. dissimilar jobs can help children, parents, and society. mainly, everyone has his own nature. In narrow condition, the nature of a child is not same with his parent. The features of one has directly relation with performance of job. Therefore the performance of a child in a job is not equal with the performance of his parent in same job. So if children want to have high performance, they must have dissimilar job. Moreover, parents usually want that their children have more success than their own self. Consequently they evaluate their child at all situation. Indeed one thing that all parent have high sensivity is their child's job. if their child has same a job, probably their mind is more busy with evaluating how their child do their job for two reasons. first reason is that they thing same job is equal success and not upper position. the second reason is that they completely now the job, so they can compare their self with their child easily. Last but not least, society need different job in different time. In during time, some jobs make useless and some job make useful. For example, horse keeper was a normal job and a lot of people work in this field; nowadays thinking for having this job is funny. therefore changing new job for child is reasonable. also some job are harmful for society. So it is wise that children select another job such as killer. To wrap it up, in the most position, difference job between parents and children is useful. Human nature, parent's expectation, and society condition make it necessity.

:question: In many developing countries, children work in some form to bring in necessary income from an early age. In the first world, many people think this is damaging and wrong but others would argue that their work brings them a sense of contributing, belonging and responsibility. What is your opinion? :idea: Child workers have long been a hot issue to debate. Pros and contras concerning this issue come up as well. The pros’ side believes that children should be allowed to work and bring in some additional income to help their family financially, provided that they work only under proper management and under strictly special conditions. One of such conditions is that the employer(s) must provide their child workers with healthy and conducive work environment that still allows the children to maintain their physical and mental health, take advantage and enjoyment of their childhood, study, and pursue a better future. Child workers should be strictly differentiated from their adult counterparts. The contras’ side insists that children aren’t supposed to work since work environment is basically suitable only for adults because of its highly competitive and ever-changing nature that children can hardly adapt themselves to, due to their inexperience and naïveté. Such environment can deprive children of the cheerfulness of their childhood. Children should be given ample time to learn, play, and explore their world since they have just started life. They cannot be expected to assume adults’ role and responsibility. Some psychologists state that youths who were deprived of the enjoyment of their childhood will likely grow into immature adults. I agree with the pros’ opinion mentioned above. If managed properly and wisely, working can help children build a sense of responsibility and also give them a good chance to learn. From my observation, I learn that some friends of mine who worked for their family since their childhood grow tougher and more prepared to face the hardship of life than those who didn’t.
