I've been looking at the websites for UC Davis, UCSB, UCSD, and other UC schools, and I'm quite confused about funding. I am a US citizen and resident of another state. I understand that I should be going through the process to apply for California residency. I understand this may differ from school to school, but for example, for UC Davis & UCSB, am I correct that TAships just cover resident tuition (or do they cover non-resident fees) and provide stipend? At UC Davis, can you get both a Non-Resident Tuition Fellowship (to offset the cost of the non-resident fee) and a TAship? Obviously I'll be reaching out to the financial aid departments at whatever institutions I apply to, but information from students who have attended would be quite helpful.

Hey urchers I have an offer from Berkeley I'm planning to accept. The one drawback is that the funding package is very weak. I have some savings, but I'm not sure my savings will cover all the shortfall from the funding package, especially given high cost of living in the Bay. I know this situation isn't singular, as plenty people apparently make low Berkeley funding work, and other schools offer weakly funded acceptances - eg no funding in the first year. I wonder: How do students tend to make ends meet when the stipend and personal savings aren't enough to cover everything? I'm asking in the American context, so, are Federal loans in the picture for some people to help smooth consumption? What else do people draw on? I know summer RA/TAships will also add a bit to overall income, but I'd like to know about what resources people draw on when this still falls a bit short. Of course there are also grants to apply for, but you never know for sure if you'll get one. So I'm particularly interested in the more reliable resources out there. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I'm new here and I'm happy to be here in the forum.. I am planning to take fpgee by April '18.. And I'm gathering some inputs that might help me for the upcoming test. I'm a full time mom and a fulltime worker in a facility.. I would like to ask is 3 hours a day enough to cover all those topics in the blueprint? Can you pls help me on how to effectively study for the 3 hrs per day. I've been graduated 17 yrs ago and I know I'm very far behind and struggling to pass the Fpgee. Any inputs are very much appreciated. Thank you all!!!
